Solid Perfume › Forums › General Lauder Solids Talk › Trash Solids Making Glorious Comeback!

Well folks, have I news for you or what. I've just found a new crisp bunch of mint to excellent solids. How about a circus tent without the trapeze? You can sure make a bargain on that one. Or the stage coach with a detachable roof, that must be considered extra value having a suntop roof. Alas I haven't been able to find the extra features making the lion in cage collectable nor have I discovered anything out of the ordinary with the roller coaster but knowing our seller I would be very disappointed if there wasn't something extra excellent or mint about them.
Have fun!
KarinKarin,
Yes, I saw them and something was going to be done about these types of solids showing up on ebay from what we heard from Lauder in Las Vegas. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />
I am glad to see the Tuberose ( EBAY #5506555215) open.
We had always thought of it as being a metal case and since it never came out we never saw it was a jar with a screw on top like EL puts their creams in.
We were shown photos of it along with the solid perfumes that year it was supposed to come out and we just assumed it was a solid perfume like all the rest .
So now the question is— Is it a true “solid perfume compact” ??? Or just a jar they were going to put a solid fragrance in????
OPINIONS please.
Ann
Interesting indeed, in my opinion it's not a solid compact rather a jar like you said Ann.
Karin, loved your description of the trash solids! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> I LOL, which I needed after so many days of sadness. Thank you.
Ann, the Tuberose looks like a jar which would contain some type of cream sachet or maybe body cream. Has anyone ever seen an EL solid perfume in a jar?
All we ever saw was a photo at convention when EL introduced the new solids and it looked like a metal case . They were introducing a new fragrance and we just
thought because it was being shown with the solids that it was a solid. The few that have been on ebay were empty ( EL didn't do the fragrance) and we again thought they were metal cases made to hold the new fragrance Tuberose.
I was surprised to see that the cases were JARS made to hold Tuberose. The one on Ebay is exactly like the one we were shown and have the ad for. It does look to maybe be metal around the glass jar.
So what catogory does this go in???
Solid perfume compact ( retail $75-$450) ??????
Or
Small tins of solid perfume ( retail $38 for a set of three)??????
Ann
Ann – Have you heard anything from Lauder regarding the questions you asked in Las Vegas? Our “Grand Unveiling” of the new solids here in Philly has been downgraded to a woman from Estee Lauder dropping them off and leaving. Period. No breakfast, no speech, no anything. Definitely NO QUESTIONS. Just drop in and have a look…that's it.
Needless to say, the SA's at Neiman's are not too thrilled about any of this. Neither am moi'. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Guess what I found? A Harrods phone booth that is all gold, as if it had never had the enamel or gold paint were applied: see it
<img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />
Karin, I am also laughing like Martha at your Description of those Trash Solids, LOL!
I kind of like the Tuberose “Jar”, too bad they didn't make a Solid Compact, oh well, perhaps next year…. <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />
I see “Hotfingers” is back at it again, the Gold Harrods Phone Booth kind of looks pretty, but I would prefer having the “real” Harrods Phone Booth. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
I did speak to Suzanne( boubala) at convention as promised in a previous topic.
She stated she sent most of the ones she bought from realgoldfinger back since they didn't close .However she left 21 postive feedbacks for realgoldfinger????????
Ann
Dear friends you have totally missed the point with the phone booth. Our precious seller clearly states that it is “gold plated”, don't you understand the quality of such a piece? Dear, dear going on about enamelling when one can get something in gold plate and “mint in tact”.. Obviously it is the enamelled ones that are defect.
KarinSorry Karin, don't you mean mint in tacky? <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> Sorry. couldn't resist! <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ />
a.
Hahaha! I was thinking about bidding on the Tuberose.
Having said that, the price will go high. I'm a big ebay looser.
You cannot be serious! The all gold Telephone Booth…… Well if there's a buyer, there's a seller! So am wondering if Harrods are aware of these new delights? Will have to ask!
Meanwhile, for all the experts, can you let me know whether EL ever made a trinket box of a baby in a pram…..unsigned??????????????????
Over to you all, and 'yes' I am serious…..
P.S. NOT doing a John McEnroe either!
Thanks <!–emo&<_<img src='style_emoticons//dry.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’dry.gif’ />
