    The story thus far:

Michele (as a seller) seemingly has had a disgruntled buyer return beanie babies to her . . . . . . with the heads cut off!!!

(Maybe this should have been the start of the Halloween story!!).

She has also had naughty buyers of solids return them for a refund in a different condition to what she knows she sent!! Because she is an avid collector, she keeps all her solids in excellent condition and KNOWS the buyer is trying to con her!!

She is OUTRAGED!! At another household in the States, Ann watches her husband Ken being haggled with for the price of shipping his trains around the country. She is frustrated by the gall of the buyers who want to save a few $$$ and perhaps hint that Ken is 'ripping them off with shipping'. However, Ken is a very honest chappie who packs carefully and ships quickly. Why don't the buyers understand that? /laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

This topic is for people to vent their disgust and/or anger at what people do to others in this world of 'silent communication'. This topic wasn't invented to offend. I apologise if some members feel aggravated by it.

So please sellers – vent your anger!!

I'm sure Ebay and Paypal take huge fees for things, so that too, may be part of the problem!! Let us know!!

    SHARE THE INFORMATION!!

<img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> Well, as I have said in the past, that is why Lisa and Jack's site is such an enriching outlet for us all!

Some of us have been lucky enough to meet up, to deal with and to exchange views and information. After all that is what this site is intended for, and in the process concentrating the big wide world into one tiny place, i.e. HERE!

So what better way to communicate! What better way to share experiences, bad and good, at the same time preventing some of the misdemeanours which are occasioned by various people who are out to defraud and make a fast buck….AND MORE…..in the process! From this we can ALL learn! It is a little sad that some members are happy to read, absorb yet not give anything back in return. Wouldnt it be wonderful if this were not so! This should be a two way street, not just a long alley! And contributing should also be a pleasurable experience. WE DONT ALWAYS THINK AND FEEL ALIKE. As you know, the computer is a cold animal and unintentionally words and actions can be easily misinterpreted!

So all I am adding is that it can be frustrating when one is trying to help others from finding themselves in vulnerable situations whereby they can be robbed of hard earned monies and also being made to feel violated in the process!!

We are here to help one another, to support one another, for this is surely what Lisa and Jack intended this site to be.

A GIVING AND SHARING exercise to benefit us all.

    I REST MY CASE…

While Jacky rests her case, over in the Lone Star State, a greyhound owner clears out some unwanted goods by way of Ebay. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

They know that “one man's junk is another man's treasure”, so they offer anything and everything . . . . the goods sell well, BUT – some cheapskate buyers have the gall to email back for 50cent refunds on the shipping !!! Of course it's UNREASONABLE !! <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />

Especially when they got a bargain in the first place.

TCH!! Ebay feedback doesn't allow for unreasonable buyers who take out their pettiness on the sellers . . . <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />

    . . . . but never fear, that doesn't stop the Greyhound seller . . . they are on a roll and continue to sell despite a minority of irks, they know there are GOOD PEOPLE out there . . . . somewhere . . . . <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

    <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ /> Meanwhile Lisa and Jack's site is buzzing with activity!

What is all the fuss about! Emails buzzing back and forth! Computers crashing! Everyone in a frenzy!!! Wait a minute! It can't be! It is! Out in the far horizon, gleaming and glistening in the sunlight! YES! The Lighthouse and the Steamboat have arrived!!!!!!!!! <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />

I agree with Pat, but I'll go along with it for a little bit, although I don't want to beat the topic to death. Remember, what's done is done…you just get past it and go from there.

    Ok…

It was a dark and stormy night (just thought I'd throw that in)…someone was banging the knocker (on the door…shame on you)…Michele opened the old creaking monster (the door) and there stood….Mr. Mailman! The package he was carrying looked so nice that Michele accepted it happily. She closed the creaking monster door and rushed to the Great Room to open it. Tearing off the tape, she pulled hard on the cardboard and….out popped Princess' purple furry head! <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ /> The head rolled across the floor, Michele screamed, the police arrived and said…”Jeezzzzz, that's awful, but we can't file a report for dismembering a beanie baby. There's nothing in the books about that…”

Anyone want to take it from here, or do you want the rest of it. Ok…to make a very long story short, the guy turned out to be a PLASTIC SURGEON from the Main Line in Philadelphia. He used a scalpel to do his dirty work! (The police figured that one out…you see, the good doctor even slit open the back of the beanie and removed half of the beans…then stitched her back up again. Nice work, too, but extremely scary.)

So, what did Michele learn? I have no idea, but she didn't sell anything on eBay for about 2 years after that…she was terrified of both buyers and sellers. It took quite a bit of coaxing from friends and family to get her back into it because she really loves the auction format! Plus, she had met so many truly nice people. And the truth is…99% of the buyers and sellers on eBay are super people. But there will always be that 1% who try to bring you down. Don't let them do it….just move on and smile!

Anyone know all the words to Desiderata? Its starts with:

“You are a child of the Universe…You have a right to be here.”

    And it ends with:

“…And whether or not it is clear to you, the world is unfolding as it should.”

    THE END

Is there a moral here? I guess somewhere between the lines there's something like that. Perhaps a metaphor or 2. The point is….whether you're a buyer or a seller or a little bit of both, be fair. Keep everything in perspective…don't fly off the handle at every little speed bump…there's lots of huge pot holes ahead so save your energy for them. And most of all, if it makes you unhappy, stay away from eBay. If every transaction gives you a bad feeling, then it's not for you. No big deal. But if more often than not everything turns out really great, enjoy it. Walk gently, speak quietly, learn to trust.

    LOVE THE ENDING AND MORAL, MICHELE! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

Sad that we have to put up with other people's problems like we do – but you're right, “Walk gently, speak quietly, learn to trust”. END OF STORY.

Finally, one last word from Mary Sunshine (in Chicago)

    There's a little bit of good in everyone, in everyone . . . . “

Thanks, Sandra. You're quite a mixture of emotions, aren't you? (And I mean that in a nice way.)

OK, well then I'll take it in a nice way. I guess it depends on the time of day and what I am responding to!!

    I am MEAN to dishonest people because I am ANGRY at them; <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />
    I get UPSET and DEPRESSED when things don't go right; <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />
I am NICE to honest people who do the right thing because I can TRUST them; <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
I am ALOOF with people who are changeable themselves because I don't know how to take them; <!–emo&<_<img src='style_emoticons//dry.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’dry.gif’ />
and I have a sense of HUMOUR with those I feel most comfortable with because they are FRIENDS. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

    Pretty normal, actually I think. <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />

I guess it depends which topic you are reading or referring to. I write like how I see it. No trickery or underhandedness – if there is an apology to be made, I make it, and if I feel strongly about something, people know.

Sorry to run the whole gamut of emotions, but hey – I'm in touch with my feelings and what you read is what you get!! <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ />

Oh yeah, and I like to exercise both sides of my brain occassionally. <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />

Enough said. Like you say – the past is the past, let's move on!! <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />

This topic may be finished? But, I'm bored. If someone cheats you out of too much $ and ebay won't help you, there are other alternatives. You could take them to Judge Judy or Texas Justice assuming all the people involved reside in the US.

Bored <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> Greyhound, YOU should have joined us last night! What with the Steamboat and Lighthouse arriving, the waves swamping Don and Margaret in Texas, and a murder mystery entitled 'WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE BEANNIE BABIES''
this site was really on fire!

MY GOD YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN US,
    THERE WAS ROLLICKING BETWEEN US,
AND THE BOARD LIT UP WITH EVERY SINGLE POST!
I HAD TO TURN THE LIGHT ON,
I WAS SCARED TO DEATH AND FRIGHTENED
BUT AFTERWARDS I THOUGHT, WAS THAT A HOAX!
SO I PULLED THE DUVET TIGHTLY
AND MADE A PRAYER TO THE ALMIGHTY,
BEFORE I SHUT MY EYES TO GO TO SLEEP…..
THEN A GHASTLY DREAM AWOKE ME
AS THE BEANNIE TRIED TO CHOKE ME,
AND I PRAYED THE LORD MY SOUL FOR HIM TO KEEP.
SO THIS MORNING WHEN I WOKE UP,
(I WAS REALLY FEELING CHOKED UP)
I DECIDED THAT TONIGHT I WOULD STAY CALM,
SO I'M GOING OFF TO SLEEP NOW
AND I PRAY YOUR SOULS TO KEEP NOW…..
HOPING NONE OF YOU WILL COME TO ANY HARM! <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ />

Hi Jacky – Never thought about it that way…it certainly was lively, now that you mention it! And yes, the board was on fire there for a while! lol:)

Texas Justice….hmmmmm….isn't that a little harsh?

Love the poem, Jacky…great finish to a wild evening. Is the moon full or were we all nuts? <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

    Lisa – Thanks:)

'bye for now…and a great weekend to all….
