Yes, I have much the same sentiments as Lyndell. 🙁
When EL started selling the solids cheap at those warehouse sales and Ebay got flooded with sellers who didn’t care what they were selling, most people on this site lost interest in collecting, along with the buzz of finding ‘new’ solids.
The knock-on effect came quick – many solid collections were quickly and massively devalued (except those who were lucky enough to have the real limited editions) and no-one bothered to buy them retail anymore since they would probably be available 6 months later at half the price. So EL stopped making as many, and so it continued to dwindle and die off . . .
Such a shame, but it isn’t the only once valued thing that has gone this way.
This world seems to have lost the idea of customer service and feeling for people and replaced it for the love of money. I wonder if there will come a time where the clock winds back and the world starts valuing it’s inhabitants rather than dollars and power. :ph34r:SandraMemberMay 11, 2015 at 10:20 pmPost count: 2188SandraMemberMay 11, 2015 at 10:19 pmPost count: 2188SandraMemberAugust 25, 2014 at 6:11 amPost count: 2188SandraMemberJuly 28, 2014 at 12:29 amPost count: 2188SandraMemberJuly 28, 2014 at 12:27 amPost count: 2188SandraMemberMay 28, 2014 at 11:03 pmPost count: 2188SandraMemberMay 12, 2014 at 2:39 amPost count: 2188SandraMemberApril 28, 2014 at 10:20 pmPost count: 2188'Ann wrote on '18:
We will be in London July 29 to Aug. 1. Staying at the Corona.
Are looking into some tours in London but have not booked yet. We do have Highclere booked for our return trip Aug. 11.
We were booked for Stonehenge also for Aug. 11 but are trying to change it to either July 30 0r 31.
Looking at dinner cruises on the Thames .
Highclere is FABULOUS ! My friend and I managed to sneek into the grounds when it was closed to tourists . . . and met Lady Carnarvon (the owner) with 4 of her dogs who were sent to hunt us out . . . anyway, she 'kindly' escorted us off the property, but not before we had a few photos at the front door. Sadly she was not in a mood to be photographed herself.
Anyway, Stonehenge is sort of on the way there from London, so maybe it is possible to do the two in one day if a tour to the two are offered. It's not too far past Windsor and although I loved the 'Henge, you probably won't be spending too much time there. 😎
Isn't it just great to see the world !?! 😀SandraMemberApril 28, 2014 at 10:10 pmPost count: 2188'Petals' wrote on '17:
I have been up to my eyes with work being done here in the apartment! A job which I thought would have and should have taken a week, has extended and taken over my life for over 5 weeks, if not more.
The floor in the hall (you remember the apartment Sandra) has been re-sanded today and will be finished on Tuesday. Then the bathroom floor etc., hopefully a day or two (not longer PLEASE) then FINISHED! It has been a nightmare especially getting up very early for the decorators every morning only to find they were not coming etc., etc.
So as far as writing on the site etc., etc., has gone by the wayside. Plus problems with AOL and not being able to get online for two weeks! So Wendy, Sandra, please accept my apologies!
Apologies accepted !! I wondered where you were. Didn't realise you were under a pile of dust ! 😛SandraMemberApril 28, 2014 at 10:08 pmPost count: 2188'Ann wrote on '12:

😀 Hey all, I met up with Ann & Ken who arrived in Sydney last Tuesday and got through without a bag check . . .
It was lovely to meet people that I 'know' from the site, and as Ann tells me, I am now checked off their list of 'people to have met' from the site. 😆
I gave them a great workout going up and down stairs/hills (sorry about that guys, esp Ken) 😉
They are now happily cruising around the Pacific Ocean somewhere for a week or so.
PS. A special 'Hi' to Lillian too for sending me her greeting via Ann & Ken.SandraMemberJanuary 12, 2014 at 10:07 pmPost count: 2188SandraMemberSeptember 23, 2013 at 9:56 pmPost count: 2188SandraMemberSeptember 16, 2013 at 1:03 amPost count: 2188'butterflies1219' wrote on '06:
Hi all. I am wondering if anyone has an extra bow for the violin? Jennifer in FL
I don't think anyone will have an 'extra' bow. These items are only sold with one bow. It's more likely that the bow has been lost, hence a lower price on the item.
If you want the bow, you may have to buy them together. I know that'll mean two violins though . . . bit of a dilemma ! 🙁
