Re the last message, I have always known Estee Lauder and Harrods to bring out a collection once a year. That definitely, definitely, applies to the Harrods commissioned pieces! These days, I am always crossing my fingers and toes when giving out information, but…..
If anyone is interested in last year’s teddy, please contact me.

Yes, I visited Harrods again….today! Had a long chat re the conversation I had with one of their Reps on Saturday.
They did receive a further consignment of the vans as previously they had only 15O of their allocation. I was told that most of the vans are reserved but there are a few available. They expect to have sold out the teddy bears and the vans by the end of this week!
All the signed boxes of the Harrods Palace have now gone. There are a few, I think three, remaining.
So, this is my last and final update, unless anyone wants to send me a private message with a private question!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have just read the last message re Harrods and it doesn’t make sense to me at all (please don’t take this personally).
I was in the store on Saturday and spoke to the girls about what they had left.
The last van I purchased and was told they were not getting anymore in. I wanted to buy another one but they had all gone and there were no more available.
The Harrods Palace was practically finished. They told me that only lOO had been made and only three were left, if that!
More teddy bears were coming in, possibly Tuesday, i.e. tomorrow 15th October.
I am wondering if the person you spoke to was aware of the facts. There are one or two new people at the stand who really didn’t know too much about the solids and were surprised when I mentioned some of these had been released in the States prior to here in the U.K.
If I am near there I will definitely ask again as I would hate you all to think that I am giving out information which is inaccurate.

I agree with the last comment concerning exclusivity. If there were hundreds of the Mona Lisa would they be worth as much? Would they be as interesting?
The rarer the item, the more collectable and the more interest it generates.
As for the Estee Lauder solids, I doubt that collectability was in the mind of the company in producing these delightful keepsakes. As far as the solids produced solely for Harrods, these are collectable as only a certain amount are produced and once the quota has been fulfilled, they are never repeated.
As for a new solid, I would love them to produce a sitting buddha as I do have an interest in unusual pieces of this nature. My next thought would be a rose as it happens to be my favourite flower. How about a beautiful diamond and ruby ring. The list goes on and on!

I am sure that if you have placed an order for the van that your order is being honoured. As of this afternoon there was only one left, which I purchased. All orders b4 this time will, to my way of thinking, be met.
I have to go to Harrods tomorrow to collect, so if anyone needs anything checked out, email me as soon as possible. All your long distance phone calls could be avoided if I am in the area!
Need to look at other messages here before going to sleep.

Hi to you all once more,
I have just purchased the last Harrods Van so don’t waste your money on long distance calls.
Still undecided on the Harrods Palace which is very, very beautiful but pricey!!!!!
Am very close to actually selling my Harrods Shopping Bag! Have been made an offer that I am in the process of considering.
Would like to sell the Statue of Liberty purchased last year.
Stay well all of you.
From ‘me’ in London.

I recall having seen in one of the topics on this site a query regarding Buddhas.
If anyone knows anything about them (I have just been through all the messages to have another look) can you let me know.
I do collect small buddhas and they have to be unusual and in good condition. If they were in solids, I would never trade them! Have some in coral, rock crystal etc. So if you have any in solids, please don’t forget me!

Don’t know what happened! Had nearly finished writing my message and it was wiped out!
This will be a shorter one!!!! Went to Harrods yesterday to look at the Harrods Palace, teddy bear and van. The Palace is much nicer than the photograph and I have the option to purchase with Mohd.Al Fayeds signature. He signed 2O. At 35O sterling, I am thinking it is alot of money but most of them have been bought! They were awaiting delivery of the teddy bears but saw the van. Quite nice, am tempted, but where does one stop???? Anyway, Ann and Ken if you have received your consignment, would love to hear your opinions on them.
Will check in to see if you have anymore thoughts on the new solids.
Best wishes to you all,

Have been reading your comments re Harrods Teddy bears etc. with interest.
They told me they would only be stocking 5OO of their individual exclusives this time around! By the sounds of things, it doesn’t add up!
If I feel well enough tomorrow, in the middle of a lousy cold, will take a walk through Hyde Park and visit them to find out more information.
Best wishes to you all!

Hi Ann and Ken,
Hope you are O.K. and that the storm will pass over! Must check out my sister-in-law due to fly out from Miami and arriving here early Friday morning!
Still haven’t heard from Harrods. Will pop in on Friday to check out the solids.

Hi Ann and Ken,
Seems as though Harrods have contacted you before us poor mortals in the U.K.
I have reserved a couple but it all adds up to alot of money.
Am I being too nosey but are you purchasing the Harrods Palace? Looking forward to seeing it as I have been told it is nicer than th e photograph. As an investment I am wondering if anyone will re-purchase at a higher price than the 35O Sterling!
Best wishes to you all. This site is becoming addictive!PetalsMemberOctober 1, 2002 at 9:44 amPost count: 2373
