There seems to be a couple of new sellers who are paying high prices for some of the solids though. However, the Bear didn't seem to interest them.

    Hi Astrid, <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
Thank you, thank you for the picture of the Holt Renfrew bag and the explanation of the color. I had my “teeth” all set for a red bag. Your picture and explanation have saved me $250.+, because a pink bag just doesn't do it for me. <!–emo&<_<img src='style_emoticons//dry.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’dry.gif’ />
    Again, Thank You, Thank You,

That new Holt Renfrew Shopping Bag surely is cute! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

Please remember if you order one from Canada, there is a 13% tax added to the price. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> We are still stinging from the blow we received from the bill for our Canadian purchased Strawberries. Pamela

HI everyone.  Finally a few minutes to post some prices for the new solids.  According to the sheets given out at the convention, this is what you will have to pay for the solids this year:

General Releases:  $80 Jingle Bell, Little Teapot, Flower Cameo, Glistening Snail, Harp

I believe these will be at Saks:
    Pretty Paisley $200
    Jeweled Ornament $250
    Treasured Hatbox $175
    Foo Dog $350
    Bonsai Tree $300
    Precious Plane $300

I believe these will be at Niemans:
    Gilded Bird Cage $350
    Sparkling Sailboat $300
    Bejeweled Butterfly $300
    Twinkling Turtle $275
    Great Wall $275
    Flutetring Feather $250
    Glorious Gramophone $325

    If you buy all the solids, the total comes to $4050.00 <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />

I have posted a few more pics.  No info on the powders yet.

Thanks Woody and Phyllis, your efforts are much appreciated. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

If you add the Harrods solids and tax, it will cost ovr $6,000 to purchase all of them. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> That's a lot of money for less perfume and craftsmanship than we used to receive. Those magnetic closures don't do a lot for me, and I don't hear the words 22 karat gold plated anymore. <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />
I'm very happy that we already have a rather sizable collection to display, so maybe it's time to stop and send the EL execs a message. <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />

    Hi Fellow Solid Collectors,
During the last week of December, I won 2 auctions for Keepsakes from one seller and paid for them with one PayPal payment. When they arrived, I found that the Seller had misrepresented the condition of the 1st Keepsake and sent the wrong item for the 2nd one. When I asked him to refund the money, he said he had already spent it. Now, he is hounding me to return the incorrect item, at my expense. He also packed them in a thinly padded envelope and didn't apply the $3.20 that I sent him to cover insurance.
If you pay for an item with PayPal, eBay won't listen to you, and PayPal isn't interested because the seller doesn't have enough feedback to be covered by their guarantee. My only hope is that AMEX will do something with the dispute.
For those of you interested in the seller's ID, look at my eBay “wins” during the last week of December; there is only one seller from whom I won 2 auctions.
    Please beware of this seller!!!!!!!!!!!

    <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> Hi Lisa,
I have been unable to view my original list of solids either. Since many of our solids are packed for traveling, I am unable to recreate my list either. Can Jack restore my list? <img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ />
    Thanks,

    Hi Carousel Lovers,
Actually, I believe that there are 4 different carousels; 2 from 1999 and 2 from 2000.
The 1999 Carousel has a half circle/crescent of blue behind the saddle on the horse and has a round box. The top of the Carousel, however, has two (2) different color patterns: going counter clockwise, one pattern is blue – green – red; the other pattern is blue – red – green.
The 2000 Carousel has 2000 stamped under the Estee Lauder located on the underside of the lid. There is a half circle/crescent of white directly behind the horse's saddle. The white area has a semicircle of blue behind it. The tops of the 2000 Carousel have the same 2 color patterns mentioned above for the 1999 Carousels. The boxes are square, rather than round.
Hope that this helps. I don't have all four of them either!

<img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> In addition to the Pink Lady, this year we will only be purchasing the Harrods' solids. The new ones are not only overpriced but are not as nice as most of the older ones.

<img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> I've always thought that the Roulette Wheel was a prettier solid than the Slot Machine. Also, you can display it without fear that it is going to turn brown!
LacySea probably has the nicest pictures and the best prsentations of any seller on eBay, that's why she usually gets good prices for her solids.

    Hi Lisa, <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
Totally awesome photos!!!!!!!!!! No one could do a better job!!!!!!!!! Great descriptions too!

We had difficulty selecting a perfect set of the solids also, and still don't believe we got as nice a cat as you did. The eyes are overpainted on most of them.

    All in all though, these are the prettiest Strongwater's to date.<img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ />
