I don't necessarily have to have them MIB, but I do like for them to have at least perfume in them. I have several I got off ebay that came with just a bag and not the boxes and the perfume was aged. All of those I bought brand new I have kept all the boxes (outer and inner). Why, I don't know as I could never ever sell them.

Usually by now it seems like the stores have the brochures. Well drats… hopefully this doesn't mean there are none this year. Can't imagine!

It is even cuter in person than I expected. It's petite and sweet! Love it! So happy I decided to do it.. pricey.. very pricey but worth it. In my never to be humble opinion.

WooHoo!! On my way to Saks after work tonight to pick up my Happiness Pleasures (the flowers). I think it's very pretty. I bet it'll be even more dazzling in person. I've wanted a new one for so long and this satiates my appetite for a while I hope!! 🙂 Julie

I will have to check out the Marc jacobs daisy ring! I have only seen the Angel pendants, so I'll be on the hunt for that too. I saw a Missoni solid necklace on Ebay that I am smitten with at the present. I'm really glad there are other manufacturers putting out solids!

I went to Nordstrom's tonight and acquired both the Marc Jacob's Daisy ring and the Missoni necklace. The necklace is VERY neat. There are two choices- the original sent adorned with red charms and the newer scent that has more blue/green beads and charms. It has weight so seems a lot more expensive ($50 us) than it is. If you want one, Nordstrom seems to have plenty. I am very smitten with the Daisy ring too. Now my only problem is deciding where to display them!! Hi All-
I am a random poster, but read your posts often for information and consider your advice to be golden. My few questions or comments that I have posted here have always been met with kindness and consideration- thank you!

I purchased the grammophone this year. The first time for me to get one of the 'exclusives'. I am SO happy with it. In fact, it was a toss up between it and the birdcage, but I settled for the grammaphone.

I think it's exciting too that other perfumers have decided to start producing solids- ahh.. more ways to spend our money!! <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ />

I think my love for solids started as a little girl. My VERY first 'solid' was a teddy bear lapel pin- his stomach opened up to reveal the solid perfume. Can't tell you know what the scent was, but it was from AVON. I LOVED it. Still played with it long after the perfume was gone. So it's been engrained in me for a long long time! LOL… happy collecting all!!

    Hi All-
I'm not an avid collector as I know most of you are (and i'm SO jealous of your collections). The size of my collection pales in comparison to yours. I have about 10 I believe. My very first was a christmas present of the white linen frog from back in the 80's. I love each one dearly and could never imagine parting with them. There are only a few I bought myself, but the rest have been gifts from people who mean so much to me. In fact, when I think about the things in my house I would grab if it was on fire, my vitrine would be one of the things. I never collected these thinking they would increase in value. Even if I found out I had one worth hundreds, it wouldn't matter. With that said, the most appealing part of the solids for me is the whole package- it's having the perfume inside- so the warehouse sale ones just don't appeal to me. I hope those of you who are sad about the value decrease remember why you started collecting these to begin with- because you loved them and they made you smile when you saw them. Is most of your dismay with the warehouse sales that it cheapens or demeans the whole 'collecting' aspect? Every time I see my princess phone (that I fought VERY hard to get on ebay- with perfume and both boxes <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> ) i get a big grin on my face. So keep loving your compacts!!! And let them continue to bring you joy.

Thank you for your inputs everyone. The pitcher, strawberry and a few others are ones that I REALLY like that i've seen empty. You've all made me feel better about these being options.

Thanks Ar. You answered my question. I was hesitant as I wasn't sure if the containers themselves could be obtained that way (warehouse sales etc…). It isn't too appealing to me either to not have the perfume inside, but as you mentioned if it was REALLY desirable it could be different. Thank you for your input.

Thank you SO much to those who alerted me to the Ebay posting!!! I WAS THE WINNER!! I am SO excited I can't stand it. I have been wanting this solid for a long long time! Haven't received it yet- but should be here in the next few days.
Special thanks to Don and Margaret and Jacqueline… from the bottom of my heart.
