Welcome to the site, Fluffy Muffy~Linda!!!
I like to keep some on my solids in the bathroom. Some in a vitrine and some on the vanity. I keep all of my out on display around the house.

I'm back from Vegas and my parents' 50th wedding anniversary!! Had a great time! I went to the Forum shops at Ceasars and visited the EL Store for the first time. I bought the Shimmering Sphere (which I wore to my parents' anniversary dinner) and the Roulette powder to match my new Roulette wheel solid. Also went the CCS store at the Outlet Malls and picked up the Taj Mahal and the Lucious Fruits. I hand carried everything on the plane back home. My husband is going to buy me a nice curio for ALL my Estee solids for my birthday next month. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

I really do love it! It's goin' on vacation with me this year! Thank you so much! I love this site so much! With all the disappointment in EL Corp, I must temper my animosity with the fact that because of EL I'm now part of this wonderful community, family, if you will, full of people that really appreciate the beauty of these little darlin's. So…thanks for “founding” this wonderful “town”and that's all from me..too mushy already!

    I love my new beauties!

well….I just got my Matador, Ladybug (I love ladybugs….) and a cute Kitten. I'm waiting on several more !!! I know I know – I set a budget and then went 3 times over it, but I don't have nice gentleman callers bringing these in, so I have to fund them myself! <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />

and I know that there's some anti – ebaying out there, but it is a good way to get started….and even for someone like me, new, I recognize MIB is ssooooo much better! Hopefully the price difference between the “empties” and MIB, and everything in between will become more apparent as they age. I did buy MIB where I could (THANKS Elly – I assume you're the elly that I bought from ?) I'm lusting after your Cinderella's Coach by the way, so if it doesn't sell, maybe in a couple of months … <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ />

I also bought one older powder compact (I think it's older) in it's original box…maybe someone can help me identify it and the year it was produced? It's a hexagonal portrait/enamel powder compact, in a blue velour(?) box. The seller identifies it as a Royal Enamel. I probably (maybe?) overpaid for this one, but I was very attracted to it, and seeing as how it was in the original box I couldn't resist.

    Cheers,

Hello Sara! I also have that Royal Enamel powder compact with the cute box! And probably overpaid for it too <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> According to Brigitte / Swisslady and her great data base this compact was made in 1974 and it is indeed called Royal Enamel. It is a shame that the powder compact boxes no longer are made like costly jewelry boxes, it does add to the attraction of the compacts.

Thanks for the info Karin – it's much appreciated. I know the powder compacts aren't as “special” as the perfume compacts…but I like them. It was a Honey Bunny that got me hooked! Now I need to go looking for a display cabinet for all my new pretties – otherwise the cat will claim them. He owns everything here….and it kills me to leave them all locked in the filing cabinet. I'll need a cabinet that locks, as he knows how to open doors and drawers. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

Sara, I was babysitting a cat once so I know that they do not go along very well with displays. This cat's favourite pursue was to (very gently) hit all my small items with his paw until they fell down from the shelves. My nerves became completely wrecked and to this day I am very suspicious about cats. I am sure he did it just to spite me. We never got along <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

The cat and I get along fine – as long as I accept that he owns everything. Anything he is not to touch must be locked away, as he frequently opens my dresser drawers and inspects everything, turns on appliances (dishwasher, microwave, washer), and cannot be trusted with any paper products at all. If any of you ever visit me, please remember to ask where I've hidden the TP before you use the bathroom <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

And yes you're quite correct, he will knock anything he can find onto the floor when he is bored. I also collect snow globes, and he has broken one of these – the rest are now “blu tacked” in place so he can't move them….the only good thing about all this is he forces me to be neat and put things away.

    So, a locked display cabinet is now vital for my solids! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

My cat, Sherlock, loves to test things to see if they'll “bounce.” I use Museum putty on a lot of my figurines, like Lladros. He can't budge them! <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

I'll be getting a nice lockable curio for my solids for my birthday, which will keep all curious paws out, as well as the prying fingers of grandkids! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
