Welcome Alice to the wonderful world of solid perfumes! I collect not only Estee Lauder solids, but any I can get my hands on!

If you go onto the solids database and you are signed in, you can hit the add button and it will keep track of your Estee solid collection. I love doing it when I get a new EL solid and get tickled looking at my list grow!

I don't have them yet, as they are in the mail, but my newest Estee's coming my way is the Aliage Sport Fragrance Shell, Heavenly Harp, Spinning Top and Rabbit all MIBB! Whoo-Hoo! I love the mailman!!

I have mind delivered to the office as I can't go to the post office to collect them during office hours. I have a colleague collecting and delivering mail to my office so she is like your mailman now, I love to see her 🙂

I told her about me starting these solid perfumes and she got interested and now every time when I got a package, she hung around to see me open it!

I do love that little drum……

But now of course you want the violin and the piano to go with it……Thats how it goes when you collect solids….. 😮 never ending…. 😆

A warm welcome to you Alice from a very, very warm England

    Margaret

Yes, you are exactly right! I'm keeping an eye on the piano on eBay and there is a violin as well but the violin is quite expansive. It's a buy it now and I think it's about AUD 200 and the postage to Australia not quoted. The piano is an auction so I'll see how it goes. I was outbid this morning in the last fee seconds. I didn't even realize it until I clicked on my purchase history to pay and it wasn't there! I don't know how it happened as I was watching the auction until it ended and my screen hasn't changed and I was the highest bidder. Anyway maybe it's good as my husband has begun to ask me about my new hobby and how many have I got… Must have seen a lot of PayPal transactions on the credit card!

P.s. sorry to confuse everyone, I actually go by my English name Alice and not my Chinese name yuen. When I registered, I was asked for a display name, and I thought yuen is less common than Alice. But I haven't been called yuen since kindergarten so I feel a bit weird when everyone called me yuen 🙂

I'll see if I can change my display name

Hi Alice – that does seem to happen with solids on Ebay – it's happened to me countless times, but as Woody once told me – it's all fair in love and solids ! 😆

😀 thanks for this tip – all these years, and I didn't know one could track their collection as easily as this ! What a cool feature. 😎

I didn't realize there were two different Beach Treasures. I recently got the pale blue circled with the strip of clear crystals. It's quite beautiful! Now I have found and purchased one that has the sand pail in deep green decorated with gold palm trees and the card names it as “Palm Beach Treasures” Does anyone know any more about this other item? Was it only distributed in certain stores? etc.

Yeah, I wondered that too, as I have seen pictures of both in the different colours you describe. However, I haven't yet been able to lay my hands on either of them !

Congrats to you for having both now. I think I like the green one more than the blue, but it would be nice to have either, if not both. 🙂

Oh, and if only I could have my little friend to play with again. 😕

Brigitte was kind enough to let me know that she found the green Palm Beach Treasures was given to attendees at a West Palm Beach Charity affair. And – she understands that there is also a pink one! Oh,MY – another one to hunt for!

    Hi Phyllis,

Is it possible to post photos of the two so that I can have a look? Just interested in seeing the two different versions.

Also , I purchased the 1988 Jeweler's compact recently and it arrived yesterday but the clasp doesn't really click. Does anyone have one and can tell me if this is normal or mine is faulty?

    Thanks

Congratulations Alice, on becomeing a new member here. And it's great you are using it to gain knowledge and add to your collection. The most important thing is to have fun.

I don't have the foggiest idea of how to post a picture on this site but if you will send me your email address I can forward the pictures to you. Don't be concerned if you don't receive them promptly. I am in the process of switching from my very old PC to a laptop. Only hoping I don't lose any files.

Oh my god they look so lovely! I wish I have them all. I must say though I like the blue one most. As I have only started to collect last month, there are so many solids that I don't have and when I check on eBay every day, there is almost something newly listed thati want! I have already spent a fortune. There are two sellers currently selling a lot of solids in boxes and I have bought a lot from them plus oth ones. One of them told me he started with 173! The other one is selling a whole collection from a deceased estate I think.

I'm so glad that I can join you guys and learn from you 🙂

Thank you and happy Easter !

OMG those are great thank you Bridgette! I am a sucker for the pink. But I will have to put each of them on my very, very long wish list! LOL!

Ok so for my happy easter to me, I got the 1997 Knowing Bunny! It is so precious. I noticed interestingly it is not marked with the Estee Lauder marking inside. Probably due to the design of the rounded back of the bunny!

Happy Easter, Happy Passover to all of my solid perfume friends!

Congratulations Jennifer! So you are the one who won the auction! I like the bunny too but I have bought so many recently that I have to give it up. It seems they take a long time to arrive in Australia. I bought more than two dozens now and only three arrived and one was from Australia.

I hope they will start arriving after Easter!

I laugh at how often we are all probably bidding like mad against eachother! Collecting solid perfumes does dig on the pockets! LOL! I have actually gone thru other items (like all my jewelry) and sold it on ebay so I could make more play money for my solids! I decided I didn't want my jewelry collection as much as I wanted my solids! A sign of a truly hooked solid collector!! I have tried to limit myself to so many a check, but the draw of the solids at a good price or one I just had thought I wanted is just too strong. Be careful, it can get out of control quickly!!

And yes, the postman is always too slow, no matter what when you are anticipating a new solid in the mail!!

    Jennifer
