Wow, what a snippy response for a valid question. For that price the box should be gold plated and insurance wasn't even mentioned.

Hi Miss Ray – Very observant of you to notice the top of the box. Maybe we need a new thread for this but it might be nice to have a list of ebay sellers (and buyers) that we all know we can trust. Or maybe just a thread where we can ask each other if not sure.
Right now we a dealing with a seller who didn't respond to our emails about method of payment after their auction for 10 days (and was answering other email from a friend in the same period of time)! We don't know what to think about that. <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ />
More about the Roulette Wheel: It is not just the top that is wrong with the box, I am sure it is the complete box for the Coffee Cup. Look at the picture and you will see that the “hole” in the box is much to big for the Roulette Wheel. That is probably why it is so chic and nicely displayed <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> and why the box is called a “shipping box”. Not the smartest thing though, to ship it in a box that is too large.
Great idea about having a special eBay thread with recommended sellers!!!

Ok, edited out my ebay ID … didn't think about hackers connecting me with my name.
I think if you are selling, it would be an appropriate thing to list your Ebay ID here. However, there should be no pressure or expectation to list it if you are a buyer and wish to remain anonymous. (Not that I feel any, though others might!)
I think that's what ID's are about on Ebay . . . . and I don't think they should be allowed to change either!! I was trying to avoid a certain seller and then they changed their name, so I bid on their auction and won the item. Needless to say that I didn't check their ID history . . . . then I had a problem . . . . then I found out that they were the one I was trying to avoid – I felt DUPED by Ebay!
I think some sellers only change their names to trick people into buying from them again . . . . when I left neg. feedback, some poor buyer emailed me to find out what the problem was, and yep – again, the seller had changed their Ebay ID.
I know the reason Don changed his Ebay ID and while that was quite valid as he had some bugger steal his password etc. I still don't think you should be allowed to unless their are particular circumstances as to why you wish to change your ID.

One of the best things we like about eBays feedback page is the ability to just check a sellers selling profile or a buying profile without wading through all of their feedbacks.

Just recently I sold something and was emailed by the buyer that something was left out of the auction (a small shopping bag) what complete and utter hooey!!! I am 100% that everthing was packaged up my me but the buyer is claiming it was not.
How can this be proved? To avoid a negative feedback I now have to send another shopping bag that was free. I think this person was looking for me to take $$$ off. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />
And not too long ago I had an e-check through PayPal that bounced. The bidder said it was a mistake on the banks part and I should just go ahead and send the item…she'd just put another e-check through. Not. Haven't heard from her since, but the 2nd e-check bounced, too.
As far as changing ID's on eBay, that's hard. Once you've built up a good reputation, why mess with it. Unless there's a problem…and problems do come up. Someone managed to get my User ID and password, then told eBay they wanted (as in I wanted) to change my email address. Which means, as Don and Margaret went through, that they would have had access not only to my reputation, but my credit card, my User ID, etc. Fortunately, someone at eBay was on the ball and they checked with me first…they had me call their 800 number…all very professional.
And bidders who say you didn't send everything or part of what you auctioned off…there's not much you can do, short of videotaping everything you mail out, as you're packing it. There's a lot of stinkers out there, for sure, and it's getting harder to sift out the good from the bad. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />
One thing the mess with eBay and the User ID/password problem taught me….change your Password every 30 days! And don't keep it in a “file” on your computer…it can be accessed! <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ />
Sandra – I hate to tell you this, but I believe you're allowed to have several User ID's on eBay. At least 3 or 4…so….you'll never really know exactly who you are buying from until the auction is over! Knowing their User ID is just part of the solution…you'd have to ask every seller for ALL their ID's! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Haven't really thought this through properly yet, but a question does spring to mind.
If we put our ebay identity on the site we are giving away alot more information about ourselves e.g. these people COULD BE ON THIS SITE. Isn't that making it easier for them!
I know some of the identities on Ebay (not all). Personally I think it might be better not to put threads but only tell the people you want to know (if you are selling to them and recognise them) who you are.
Open to response……as I said, I have not had time to think this through in depth!
Those that know me also know my User ID. Ok as long as we are talking on this one I'll throw out the newest “scam” I've been caught in. I also collect Nightmare before Christmas Mdse and many of the items are impossible to find and costly. I have had no fewer than 6!! Ebay deals arrived with “broken” items inside and the seller who has insured them says oh no problem I”ll file a claim. Once maybe, twice is ok?? but 6! It appears that people are unloading damaged goods and getting paid for it. The worst was a deal in July which was 3 artist signed rare disney statues original boxes etc. They arrived and the main one was horribly broken but the best part?? NONE WERE SIGNED and UPS still paid the claim! This was an obvious scam and it went through with no big deal. So who is to now say missing stones on a solid are claim worthy??

This is scary stuff! There's more buyer problems than ever before. Selling womens clothing is the worst by far.
About idenity theft: Have you replied to any spoof emails asking for your password and credit card number? I don't store any passwords on my computer or anything highly personal such as banking stuff. Ebay IDs: I don't feel comfortable telling everyone in the whole wide world my id. The important thing is that Lisa knows and a handful of others (probably more than I realize). I only told one person because they asked.
Changing ebay ids isn't necessarily suspicious. You can always ask why they did it if you're uncomfortable. I did it once before. I used my email addy as my id. I changed for several reasons: 1) got too much spam, 2) wanted to chunk that email addy and to start using a new one (the one I use now), 3) the #1 reason: wanted a shorter id because I got tired of typing my long id everytime I wanted to bid at the last minuite (ebay didn't have the time saving shortcuts they do now).
Personally I can't see the point of someone having multiple Ebay ID's (it's akin to multiple personalities!!).
The idea of it is ridiculous!! Can people can bid up their own things!?!
Well, we don't know about posting ebay ids here (although for the life of us we can't see what anyone could find out as we have very little personal info stored here) but we are going to continue to ask about auctions and sellers we think might be suspicious. We have great faith that someone that reads the posts here will know something that helps us. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
After having our ebay ids stolen not once but twice now, we are very conscientious about changing passwords on ebay and our email often. Also our passwords have gotten a lot more complicated. <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />
