Hmmm, my guess is that all the warehouse nonsense is still going on.

Yes, it is all of us warehouse crazies. I started out selling them and now collect however I cannot bring myself to pay the price of those with boxes and perfume. The warehouse in Long Island is closing and they have had some very nice compacts! I'm going again Saturday. They also allow you to go into the Company store which carries the boxed compacts. I'll scout out what they have on Saturday and post – I'd be happy to pick some up if anyone needs them …. the next time I go will be the 18th of June.

The warehouse will move to Melville, NY after that. Not sure when the next “sale” will be.

Also, if anyone would like passes I may be able to drum some up!

Will do! I may also head out to the Tanger Outlets where I have seen solids at “The Cosmetics Company Store” which is Estee's outlet. I wonder if they sell different compacts in the different outlet locations?

I was told several years ago by an employee of a Cosmetics Company Store that the manager of each store chooses which compacts they want to order for their store. I don't know if it's changed.

I just had to write something about an experience I have just had on Ebay, which some of you will appreciate is quite funny!

For the first time ever I have received a negative feedback from LUXPLUSSTUF

I listed a Beaux Arts Gift Box ( did not mention Gift Box in the title) 1989.

    Wait for it……………………………

This buyer wanted to return the item due to the fact that my auction was misleading. She was unaware that it did not come with ORIGINAL BOX AND POUCH and…….wait for it, she listed in her negative complaint that the perfume……..wait for it………..is ''BROWN''.

Amazingly enough, this particular solid was in MINT Condition and the perfume was full……..and it was released……..wait for it…….in 1989. This makes the perfume 22 YEARS OLD! The Beaux Art had the label, shiny gold, and full, yes, full of perfume!

She thought, wait for it…..that I would sell a mint in the Box Beaux Art for £21! Crazeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

An original Beaux Art in the Box would sell much higher than that!

So Ladies and Gentlemen, your perfume of 22years must be PINK IN COLOUR, and must have the original pouch and box!

I refused to receive it as I had NO RETURNS on my auction plus the fact that she was aggressive in the first email demanding my home address! The second email mentioned NEGATIVE FEEDBACK i.e. trying to avoid it by my taking the item back was the inference!

I cleared the auction with Ebay U.K. who found nothing wrong with what I had written and told me I was justified in not accepting the item………but she still managed to write her negative which Ebay will see……..

So this is what is happening on Ebay. Sellers be prepared for negative feedback from ebayers who change their mind about an item which they decide they do not want OR they do not read the description etc. I do not mind buyer's remorse if the buyer is polite and apologetic but to be blackmailed into taking something back……WHOA…………………….

    ANYMORE STORIES ABOUT EBAY??? 🙄

anyone else had a similar experience with someone saying they collected these solids yet did not know the perfume goes brown in colour. I am speaking of VINTAGE SOLIDS. 🙄

    Jacky,

There are some wacky people on ebay. And some downright dishonest. I wrote a while ago about receiving a solid that was glued together but advertised as mint. The seller accused ME of gluing it! I gave the seller a negative feedback and she gave me one back. She finally gave me a refund (LESS SHIPPING!) when I filed a complaint.

You can post a feedback response now on ebay which I think is progress.

P.S. Are we supposed to refrigerate filled solids for 20+ years????!!! I'm not even sure that would preserve them!

    Hello Ar,

The point she has put forward with Ebay, as well, is the fact that in the auction I described the Beaux Art as: the box is 3Dimensional, Brushed gold etc. (Remember Beaux Art is also a Gift Box) Now she is saying there was NO box i.e. packaging etc. What a dishonest, ghastly, disagreeable person she is. Instead of just saying she made a mistake she changed it around and then said she was trying to avoid my receiving negative feedback by my accepting a return. I am putting her in my block bidders list and for all the friends I have on Ebay and sell to, her negative will not even be a speck in the ocean. She has just lost business and I WILL NOT BE BULLIED BY DISHONEST PEOPLE BUT thank God there are not too many of them………You know my sellers name on Ebay and I have a second Beaux Art for sale. I shall check that out in case she bids on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol:I THINK I WILL STOP MAKING MY AUCTIONS PRIVATE! THIS WAY OTHERS CAN SEE WHAT I HAVE LISTED AND SOLD AND ALSO READ MY DESCRIPTIONS…….

    Hi Jacky…. 🙂

What a silly woman and a bully as well, it stands out a mile that she has no knowledge of solids or the perfume in them…you do get them…. 😆

    Hi Jacky,

Can you refrigerate the solid perfume compacts, maybe up to a year? Will anything happen to the compact itself? I know you can refigerate the liquid version of a perfume, but I wasn't sure if there would be a problem with a solid compact.

    Thanks,

Hello LadyMarsham, Love the name! Re keeping the solids in the fridge, it is something I have never ever done. Maybe some of our other collectors will be able to give advice on this question. As for having kept a perfume solid in the fridge for 22 years (the mind boggles)!

Ar, Vegas Lady, Zooey, and everyone else I have not mentioned, any advice please?

    🙂

    P.S

Anyone looking for the Bulldog or Palace Guard, please make contact. I'm afraid these two Harrods items cannot be at rock bottom pricing due to the difficulty and rarity etc. Contact me through my name if you are interested.
