What bad weather? Are you kidding ? Here – in Sydney? <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ />

We had only a storm that last a couple of hours tops. Some areas in outer Sydney I heard were a bit flooded in a sudden deluge and 12 cars from one carpark also in the outer suburbs (southwest, I think) went off down stream I saw on the news. <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />

Everywhere else 'weathered the storm' so to speak. Some places in Sydney there was just loud thunder noises with no rain at all ! Actually, most of the time we need it to rain, so we welcome it. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

On the news, the 'storm warnings' were cancelled ! Black clouds moved in and out in the space of half an hour . . . . very weird ! Suddenly dark and then suddenly sunny!

I'm OK, and thanks for asking! It's so humid here at the moment we are just sitting it out and waiting for the cooler months. <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />

Everything dries up pretty quick here. Nothing stays wet for long. However, I do have to say we are also experiencing strange weather patterns like the rest of the world. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> Sudden and rapid changes are now the norm . . . . it's getting a bit like Melbourne on occassions!! <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />

Phew!! The last couple of days have been hot and humid here, but last night we had a clearing thunderstorm that would have kept everyone awake for hours!

This seems to be the way our climate is going nowadays. Seering heat with clearing and sometimes violent storms.

I watched a show on how we contribute to global warming just through domestic daily living and its frightening how much each household contributes to it just by going about their business. Cars, electrics, gadgets – you name it, everyone has it. The suggestion is to go back to the 50s style of living to try to limit the damage. But of course, no-one is going to do that en masse, are they?

On 31st March this year, the whole of Sydney will be in a collective blackout for one hour. The plan is to 'save' any emissions for one hour and see how we survive. It will be interesting! <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />

I wish they would do something about the traffic pollution in the centre
of London! It's all very well putting up the Congestion charges, but all the
traffic which avoids the congestion charging drives down our road facing
our apartment buildings! The irony of it is the fact that on the side of
our road it is non-congestion but cross the road and the opposite pavement
falls into the congestion zone! So, we have even more pollution thanks
to Ken Livingston and if I ever meet him, would give him some verbal……

Meanwhile, am sooooo looking forward to the non-smoking ban to come into
effect on July 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only do we have to contend with
traffic pollution, we also have Shisha Pipe pollution! <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ />

So, wake up London and start cleaning up your act! This is not a clean and healthy city to live in……. Well done Australia for taking some measures….
but one hour does not measure up to much does it <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ />

<img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> No, one hour isn't a lot, but it's an hour where EVERYTHING goes dark. Industries, businesses, whole buildings will go down (like as if in an air raid, I guess!) So that will add up to a LOT in power use – I think we may be surprised what comes out of it and it may be a regular thing! Who knows? <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />

Australia has had smoking bans for quite some time now. It is always a shock to the system when I visit other countries and everyone is smoking around food, like in restaurants, pubs etc. And I realise that I have been spoilt over here with good air ! <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

Industry pollution and car pollution is everywhere, so I think we all could benefit from use of vehicles that don't use petrol and emit such strong gases. I'm sure there are motors that can run without petrol, but since it's a HUGE money spinner, powers that be will not promote them or I have heard, buy the paton (?) of them so that they won't be manufactured! <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />
