I have a copy of Roselyn Gerson's second edition Vintage & Vogue Ladies' Compacts book. On the cover there is a picture of the Estee Lauder 2000 Millenium powder compact. The one on the cover is round and crystal encrusted on the lid. I have a 2000 Millenium powder compact but it is brush goldtone on the lid. I have never seen this one with all the crystals on Ebay. Was this a prototype or a real limited edition like the Harrods solids?VEGAS LADYMemberFebruary 2, 2005 at 9:33 pmPost count: 976
I CAN HELP YOU WITH YOUR QUESTION….
THE MILLENIUM 2000 SANDS OF TIME HOURGLASS WITH POODLE BALL WAS A LAS VEGAS EXCLUSIVE. I BOUGHT MINE IN NOVEMBER 1999. THE COST WAS ABOUT $120. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANOTHER ONE OR COME ACROSS ANOTHER COLLECTOR WITH ONE IN ENGLAND, THE CRYSTALS ON IT AND INSIDE IT ARE SUPER….SO NO, THE ONE IN THE PICTURE IS NOT A PROTOTYPE
HOPE THIS HELPS…..REGARDS….MARGARET <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />Ann and KenMemberFebruary 2, 2005 at 10:31 pmPost count: 1465

Margaret and Ann,
Thanks for the information. I guess everyone who purchased that compact really fell in love with all those crystals! <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ /> Both of you have a very special compact.
