Hello everyone,
This silver heart solid was auctioned this morning (Australian time, 2 May) at a very high price, $355! I really can't understand why. Is anyone able to shed any lights? I have won six from the same sellers (all old ones) and I paid $10-20 for the other ones. The silver one was on my bid list as well but of course I deleted it this morning when I saw the highest bid was $150 ish. Can't believe it fetched $355 in the end. Here's the link to the solid

Alice,
We really don't know why the price is so high although we've never seen it before (and we've seen almost all of the estees). Maybe Brigitte wiil enlighten us.
Don and Margaret
Thanks Margaret and Don. Do you think it looks like the Silver Sentiment from 1983? According to the database, it is an estee as well.
Alice
Hi Alice,
according to my opinion and knoweledge it is the silversentiment from 1983.
I can't tell you why it went so high. I paid $ 94.00 for it years ago.
Maybe it was one that the buyer, for some reason, absolutely wanted
in his collection and therefore she/he bet so high…who knows.
Brigitte
Yep – only takes 2 people to want the same thing at the same time to get a high price. Nevermind, there will be another – people who have this will see the high price and perhaps put their's up for sale too.
Then you will see the prices go down when the market is flooded with them. 🙂
The secret is patience . . . something most of us didn't have with these a decade ago !
yes, that's what I think as well. The two people bidding for it in the end must want it desparately, say to complete their collection, that's what my husband said. I have corresponded with the seller a bit before the auction (to convince him to sell to me in Australia!) and I “chatted” to him after the auction and he couldn't understand why it went so high as well. But of course he isn't complaining. He said now he knows how popular they are, he's going to find some more 🙄

I do not recall this Silver Heart but I will double check! If it is a rare one then there are collectors who will pay alot for elusive solids which is great. I have a Silver Heart but it is a different design.
Sandra, did you recieve my text message??
Hey Jacky – the last text I received from you was on 3rd May, which I replied to. 🙄
Are you missing me then? 😀

OOps! Don't know why the above message came up …anyway, never received your reply and was sorry I missed your birthday as did not send you wishes!
Anyway, glad all is well!
Do not understand the prices on ebay right now. They just don't make sense but neither does the economy. No doubt all will improve with time and those who are buying now will be holding some bargains, to say the least!
Now back to the celebrations in the U.K. Anyway coming over?
Oh shame, just thanked you for your wishes and asked you what show you'd been to see . . .
No, not coming over since the weather doesn't look that much better than here, unfortunately. Will be waving the flag for her and watching out for you on the telly. Have fun, and give the Queen my regards. 😀
Has this imperial princess on ebay been repainted? Look at the lock of hair in the front.
