My mom recently passed away, and I have now come into possession of a small (2×1.5inch) gold Walnut containing solid perfume, with an inch long chain ending in an amber bead. Its full and it still smells nice!
I know she got it from my granmother so it have been in my family for several generations. However, it has not markings, not info on manufacturer or scent. I havent been able to find a thing on the Internet.
I ran across this site and thought I should check with the experts! I have in herited so many things, I need to purge the less sentimental, but I certainly can't find a goo dhome for it without any knowledge.
Has anyone seen one of these? Perhaps be able to provide me with or direct me to any info where I can continue my research?
Any assistance would be tremendously helpful. I dont know if I can post pictures, but if so I can certainly get one up here by tomorrow.
Thanks!

Sorry that I can't help you the only walnut I have is silver and a powder compact.

Hello Jami, Wish I could help but as Margaret said, there are many experts on this site who might come up with an answer.
If you could take a picture and email it. If you write to any of us through our personal email address, then 'whoever' you send your email to would email you back with their personal email address so you could forward the picture.
Click onto the person's name who you want to contact (their name is here on the left hand side of their message (not making myself clear) but from there it will guide you through to sending that personal a personal message or email. Many of us do not like our personal email address to be in the content of a message which anyone can see when entering the site…
I do wish you all the very best and hope one of us will be able to help you.
I believe it is a Corday solid perfume. I just saw one on Ebay, am pretty sure it is still on Ebay, as I have it on my watchlist. I had never seen anything like it before, and collect the Cordays as well. I will check w/Phyllis, and see if she knows or has one, as she has a really extensive solid collection as well.
Check out Ebay auction #170384729559. The auction says it is a Corday solid from the 1960's. It sounds as if you have the same solid.
Hello szumerspirit,
Welcome to the site !
Your solid perfume is called “In a Nutshell”, it was made by Max Factor, and it usually holds the scent “Hypnotique”.
Hope this helps <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />Regards,
