I was really surprised to hear yesterday that Evelyn Lauder passed away last year.
I have searched the topics to see if I missed anything which may have been written but I cannot find any acknowledgment. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.
Therefore, I would like to add belated condolences to her family.
I didn't know of her passing either.. Evelyn Lauder was a wonderful lady, my prayers go out to her family.
Hi all,
I don't know if anyone knew this about Evelyn Lauder so here is more information about her:
Evelyn Lauder personally raised much of the $13.6 million that went to create the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, which opened in October 1992 and focuses on the treatment and diagnosis of breast cancer. She helped raise an additional $5 million to create an endowment to be used to fund clinical research there.
She was a strong supporter in the fight against breast cancer and she cared so much about others putting them before herself. Truly beautiful human being… very sad loss.
I read in a few magazines taht Evelyn Lauder had passed away last year, there was very little said at the time. She died of ovarian cancer, which is sad after all of the work she did to help others with cancer. I expected to read a lot more about this in magazines such as Town and Country and Vogue, magazines that had her picture in them often. It must have been her wish and her family's wish that there be little written about her. She was always a lady.
