I saw my first signs of spring today, crocus bulbs about to bloom! It's been a long, cold winter here in the Northeast, so I hope the worst is over. We turn the clocks ahead this weekend, so our days will be getting longer. Come on spring!

My hummingbirds arrived on March 1 (Tampa Bay area). I was watching a pair of them today at the honeysuckle. I missed 'em!

We turn the clocks ahead THIS weekend? Are you sure? I am so out of the loop it's not even funny. Thank you for bringing it up, chowlover! 🙂

Spring…for me, it's seeing the forsythia begin to bloom. Always has been. That and violets. Not real exciting, but it's me.

Our forsythia has buds, it won't be too long. Yes, we SPRING ahead with the clocks this weekend, I could hardly believe it myself. i'm glad for the longer daylight, I hate winter when it is dark by 5PM.

My crocus have bloomed looking lovely, and my tulips are on their way. But unfortunately only 1 daffodil has decided to show up this year, and 1 little purple thing that I can't remember the name of!! lol

The bad snow and ice this year has seen quite a few of my plants off. 😡

On a different note I have had a pair of robins flitting about the garden this year, I only usually see them on their own.

Anyway it's summer 😎 I'm looking forward too, I'm sick of being cold. 🙄

I think the little purple plant is a grape hyacinth, as they usually bloom really early. I can only plant daffodils, as the deer eat all my other bulbs. We had about 3 inches of rain yesterday, and my bulbs shot up about 4 inches. I can't wait for them to bloom. It's been a cold, snowy wiinter in the Northeast! I have yet to see any robins, our temps are headed into the 50's this weekend, so perhaps they will show up then.

Our signs of spring are showing, too, the purple ice plant and California daisies (orange) are blooming here in So. California. Yes, we DO have seasons – it's just a bit more difficult to tell because they're more subtle! Except we did have 2 days last week where the temp was in the 80's… Anyway, I escaped from Minnesota back in 1981 so I had plenty of experience with “real” seasons! I spoke with my brother in Denver yesterday afternoon and they were getting snow. 😮 My sister-in-law said on Friday she was wearing flip flops it was so warm! Hope the weather will be nice in Chicago for all those going to the Convention.

😎 I did Margaret! I spent yesterday afternoon, Friday, in Regents Park. I slept on and off and covered my face with my sun hat (did not want to frighten the sun away). Came home, had a bath, washed hair and today I am off to the UK Chapter's get together in Teddington. This is one day of the year which many of us enjoy. We have lunch in the garden of the pub and everyone is friendly and happy to see one another! Also watch the Grand National (horse race)……have put a couple of ££££ on, but as I have won three years in a row, do not expect to make a 4th!

Going to get dressed now! Just hope I can get there with the engineering works affecting the trains!

    See you later……… 🙂

Margaret and Jacky, I should think you both would be busy planning what you'll be wearing to the Royal Wedding?! I'm sure you've received your invitations by now, correct?? Do tell! 😆

Hi Wendy ……Of course we got an invitation ( mine came in the post just last week ) 😉

I did write back to Her Majesty saying how sorry I am not to be able to attend but I would sooner go to the Perfume Convention in Chiago ( I'm sure she will understand ) LOL

Hello Jacky….You sure got a nice day for the meeting in Teddington, we get a couple of good sunny days and guess who had to work…. 😡

Of course, they will ALL understand although I'm sure William will be devastated! 😮 Well, then, Jacky, instead of “poking around in stalls” looking for reinvented EL solid containers  , how are your preparations for the wedding coming along? 😛
