I am thinking of selling a couple of my harder to find solids for my daughter's college books. I have boxes but my hubby is so allergic to perfume that I always cleaned them out before putting them in the curio.

How badly does this lower the price?

I can only answer for myself and to me, not at all cause I also am allergic to the perfume, lol. Funny for a perfume bottle collector isn't it. Do you have a Tutu to sell???Lainey

    Hi Ribbitt,
That just seems so odd to me, but if you're allergic you gotta do what ya gotta do.
To the hardcore collector it will make a big difference. For someone like me who just likes having them to play with (photograph) I don't think it will be a problem. But, I don't think anyone will pay a premium for solidperfume w/o the perfume. Unless you have the Princess or the Panda <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> then there will be a bidding war.
    I remember what is was like buying books <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ /> hope you have the Princess or Panda. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

I was packing up my solids the other day and the perfume is really going bad in the older ones. I didn't clean it out but it makes me wonder what it will be like in another 10-20 years! <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />

    Yeah, that's kind of a weird situation, ribbitdenver . . . Mint in boxes but no perfume . . . .

Well like Ar says, with the perfume shrinkage, they all may be empty in the long run! Again, it depends which ones you have to sell, but I'm not sure if they will achieve the same price as one that does contain the perfume . . . . depends on the rarity I guess.

Well GOOD LUCK, and now coming up to Christmas, you may get a lovely surprise and lots of bidders! <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />
