Does anyone feel as I do, that the 2006 E L presentation box is badly designed? It looks OK but not as aesthetically pleasing to the eye as the previous gold and blue boxes with their stunning gold/blue satin pouches. With the new drawer-like box, as I close it, I keep jamming the velvet pad in the top of the box. Clumsy me huh?

Hello MitziMay, my first reaction at the time of seeing the new design of
the boxes was a good one!

I think they are easier for posting/shipping and are more compact. To
be honest with you, I haven't been opening and closing them of late, so
once I get down to the nitty gritty, I will be able to make a better
    judgement…

I like the new boxes, I think they are quite elegant. However, I have a few questions about the pouches. When I bought the solid I only glanced at the pouch and found it odd that it was in cotton, that seemed very cheap. But when I got home I discovered that it was lined in satin. Aha, it must had been turned insideout then! But… when I turned it out, the tag ended up on the outside and the lacing on the inside… Is the tag supposed to be on the outside? It doesn't look good to me but if your pouches are the same I assume it is supposed to be like that. Please let me know if your pouches are like this or if I have been given a faulty one. And how particular should I be about the quality of the pouch? Does anyone else feel this as being important?

    Hello Karin

I.M.H.P The price that Estee Lauder charge for the solids and Powder Compacts we have every right to expect good quality pouches and boxes…….I think we all should be VERY, VERY particular.

Yip, I agree with you both! The pouches do look cheap, the cotton really looks poor quality. Regarding the boxes, I have already slightly damaged the inside of one of the 2006 gold boxes when I jammed the velvet foam (that covers the compact) in the box. Perhaps Estee Lauder is following the trend of so many companies today who are sacrificing quality for higher profit margins? Heaven forbid! As you say Margaret for the price we pay, everything should be top quality, box, pouch and the compact!

    Best regards
