My answer.. I don't mind having empty compacts, although… my opinion seems to be changing… now I do want as many full compacts as possible!ArMemberDecember 7, 2011 at 12:34 amPost count: 502
I agree, I prefer MIB but will purchase empties to fill in the holes.'Lisa' wrote on '06:

Have to say, I like my collections to be all MIB.
The hunt is as much fun to me as having it. 😉
As for the cost, well, sometimes you win sometimes you don't. I've given up getting so upset about how much I used to pay. The fact is, I love them, and if you enjoy something, after a while the cost becomes secondary.
Money comes and goes. I don't like regretting things I should have bought when I had the chance in the past.
That's not to say I accept what has gone on with EL solid perfumes since 2003 or thereabouts. I realize my collection has been severely devalued but I haven't collected them to make a quick buck either. I treasure them and all the friends I have made because of them.
When I look at each solid, I remember how I got it, and usually who I bought it from. 🙂katitaMemberDecember 9, 2011 at 12:54 amPost count: 567
I, too have empties, it beats not having the solid. I prefer MIB. Sometimes, especially with the older solids, you get what you can and hope to get a better one later.ladymashamMemberDecember 9, 2011 at 12:26 pmPost count: 16
When I first started to collect the solids I was told that people collect both, but as I have been doing this for a number of years I try to hold out for the MIB and now very rarely if ever buy the empties. When I aquire a Strongwater MIB solid that I happen to have in an empty version I pass on the empty to a friend that loves and collects Strongwater. She is happy and so am I. I truly love these lttle “jewels”. I am not happy with EL's practice of dumping the empties on the market. If they have overruns I feel that they should just be sold through the EL The Cosmetics Company Stores. Maybe they should fewer compacts and then they truely will be limited editions once again.mybuffy69MemberDecember 14, 2011 at 4:58 amPost count: 13
I don't necessarily have to have them MIB, but I do like for them to have at least perfume in them. I have several I got off ebay that came with just a bag and not the boxes and the perfume was aged. All of those I bought brand new I have kept all the boxes (outer and inner). Why, I don't know as I could never ever sell them.VEGAS LADYMemberDecember 23, 2011 at 1:39 pmPost count: 976
All MIB for me ….PLEASE

MIB for me too with the authentic perfume and not the home made stuff which does not smell the same. Even if the old perfume is worn down and brown in colour, that is fine… even the residue of perfume if possible. 🙄MitziMayMemberJanuary 12, 2012 at 11:37 amPost count: 112'Petals' wrote on '25:

When we first started we bought a lot without boxes but now buy only mint in boxes. We agree with everything you said Sandra. We were really disappointed when our collection was devalued but have realized,
Like you, that we bought because we loved them and still do so its ok now and we own a great collection that we get a lot of pleasure from We have'nt posted for a long time partially because of what happened to the prices had us depressed. We have purchased few that we did not have at a great price just lately so it is working in our favor also. Great to read your posts again.Don and MargaretMemberFebruary 3, 2012 at 5:23 amPost count: 527
