I got the Yellow Rose Compact that holds the Fragrance Beautiful and the Cowboy Hat that holds Dazzling Silver. Guess what? The little round labels that are on the bottom of the compact are switched. If I could repair the compact labels I would probably keep them, but I'm concerned about damage. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
I look to you all here for your experience. Thank you.

Gee..that's a shame. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> I don't see how that happened. It seems to me (JMHO) that for this to have happened, the labels would have to have been loose at some point and then someone would have had to have glued them back on. Unless, this actually happened at the factory. <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ /> Are these both from the same seller? I'd email the seller and ask her/him if they know anything about this. That's real strange.
Hope you get this figured out. Sorry that I don't know how to help you w/removing the labels wo/damaging them and then how to glue them to the proper solids. Hopefully, an expert on the solilds board will be able to help you.
BTW…it was GREAT meeting you. Thank you for the wonderful chat about solids. I hope you can post some pics of your beauties soon. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
Take care, Lady!

Hi Bev – you could try taking a hair dryer to the label to loosen the glue and carefully pull it off with a tweezer – I've done this myself in the past – usually the label just slids out and you can re-glue it. Once I had to use a tweezer to pick the label off – try your finger first.
Hope this helps a little – good luck!!!

Hello Again,
Thank you for the hair dryer suggestion. The seller also suggested that. I will give it a try and see what happens. Hopefully, I won't ruin one or both of the compacts.
The seller denied that anything was wrong with the compacts at the time they were shipped. I sent photos of everything to the seller and she/he seemed interested in trying to resolve the problems. Like I said, I bid on these pieces because I wanted them, not to cause problems. The seller stated she is a collector. I naively thought the discussion could go on until the compacts were fixed. But I was shocked today when the seller sent an email telling me not to contact her again. Any further discussion had to go through PayPal. Wow! So much for working together.
I cannot tell you how sad I feel about this situation. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />
Wish me luck on the repairs. <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />Hi Barb,
I enjoyed meeting with you the other day. You are the first person I've met that collects solids. Having someone to chat with face-to-face to compare ideas regarding collecting or selling and which ones are the next great thing makes it all the more fun. This site is a great place to exchange information and I've learned so much. Now, I have one face to put with a name. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />QUOTE(2cute4u2 @ Feb 25 2007, 07:14 PM)Hi Bev,Gee..that's a shame. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> I don't see how that happened. Hey Bev…
Were you able to repair the solids? Been thinking about you.
The labels can be tricky! Be warned! <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ />
QUOTE(2cute4u2 @ Mar 16 2007, 09:05 PM)Hey Bev…Were you able to repair the solids? Been thinking about you.
You will never believe what happened. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> I used the hair dryer to remove the labels and did so successfully for both. The labels were dutifully sitting on the counter top waiting to be put on the proper compact bottoms when I inadvertently turned the hair dryer in their direction and blew one label down the drain. <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />
I tried everything I could think of to retreive that one label but never saw it again. However, the other label did get put onto the proper compact and looks as good as new. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />I'm sorry to say that the experience with the ebay vendor that I purchased these compacts from has truly spoiled my feelings for collecting. I never posted feedback because of the retaliatory feedback I would receive (in every email she would comment how much trouble I was causing). The seller offered to gladly refund my money if I returned the items in “same” condition they were in when sent. How does that work – when the seller denies the items were damaged or altered before shipping? I sent photos to the seller showing the damage and alterations and she denied that the compacts were in that condition when shipped. She suggested postal tampering, etc. Oh please! <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ /> So had I returned them, the seller would now have my money and the compacts <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ /> And this ebay vendor has a 100% positive feedback. How many others have been hoodwinked by this vendor and not posted feedback because of retaliatory comments that would surely be given! <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />
Anyway, I hope all is well with you and you are enjoying the California spring weather — I love this time of year. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />
I've also had such a bad experience with an eBay seller that it almost made me never wanting to buy anything from eBay again. I had no choice but to report the seller and try to get my money back and I felt horrible having to do so. However, in the end I got my money back but that was several weeks after I had bought the item. I discovered that the seller was still selling on eBay using another name and thinking about how much it had destroyed the fun for me being scammed I made it my business to get him stopped. I reported every single one of his auctions to eBay urging them to take action against him. And finally his auctions disappeared <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> It felt really good to help other people from not being scammed and that helped me get back the joy of collecting <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ /> Bev, try not to let this idiot seller spoil the fun for you, there are so many, many more really nice people on eBay!
Karin
Hello Bev, and just to say I am sure many of us know exactly how you feel. I also received a negative feedback when the person buying from me failed to 'carry through' and in the process told a bundle of lies. I sent Ebay all the information and described exactly what transpired, but they ended up
doing nothing! They agreed, having seen all the copies of emails etc., that the buyer was at fault, but that did not resolve the situation .Over the Christmas period I had a similar experience and reported it to Ebay. Ebay really is the pits when it comes to bad buyers and sellers. They really do not do enough in this respect. If there was somewhere else to list and buy, I would welcome a change!
Karin, I admire your perseverance!

<img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> Hear, hear !! My sentiments exactly, Jacqueline !
You have my full empathy, Bev. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />
Persevere and lets get rid of the 'bad guys' off Ebay. Like Karin, I got over a bad experience and it's all been good since then. <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />
Wow, Bev! What a nightmare! I'm glad that you got one solid w/the correct label. So sorry about the other one. I know how frustrating ebay can be. I haved been fortunate, but my friends have not been so lucky. And yes, there was always a degree of trouble for them in trying to resolve a purchasaed where things weren't right to begin with.
As for the CA weather…I was enjoying it until the fire came real close to my home a few weeks ago. We were under mandatory evacuation but decided to stay. We did evacuate a year ago and this time we waited and luckily, the winds changed and we just unpacked our stuff.
<img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> Thank goodness for that! Am pleased to read you are safe and well!
