New Powder Compact Nordstrom Update

Stopped by Nordstrom's last night. They already have one of the new powder compacts–With Love. I spoke to the salesgirl and she told me that the stores received between 3 to 6 of these compacts this year. This quantity is much smaller than with previous compacts–is what the salesgirl told me. The box also has a card that describes the compact as limited edition but does not give an number. The compact is lovely….she also told me that her customers did not like the Erte zodiac compacts so she was happy to get in a few of the crystal compacts. I had received a fragrance for Christmas which I wanted to exchange and YUP…I paid the difference and bought the compact. It is priced at $95. I also told the salesgirl that I would be very displeased if the compact showed up on ebay for much less. She said to keep the receipt so that I coul return it if I chose to do so.

So…do you guys think that EL is really limiting production if solids and powder compacts? Appears to be with the cards that are being included in this year's items.

BTW…I also recived a near GWP.

[/B]Would love to see a picture of this compact Barbara. I love the Erte Compacts and have one for my birth sign. There are so many beautiful powder compacts that I am grateful I never started collecting. In many ways I think they are nicer than the solids but on the other side of the coin, so many to choose from!

Once again it amazes me how differently EL treat their customers on the other side of the ocean! I could go on……..but suffice to say I will only be buying the Harrods solids here, and the rest I will purchase from the States!

Thanks for the info Barbara – I'm with Jacky – I'm surprised 'no-one' liked the Erte zodiac compacts . . . personally I think they are the best set so far!

It also seems a bit shonky that EL says on their card that they are limited, but no number . . . . . <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />

Lisa thanks for the links to the new powder compacts. I am partial to the color pink and also to hearts. But in this case I think I like the Petals of Love powder compact better than the With Love powder compact.

I do like the with love powder compact very much!

I think the petals of love compact could have been better, the colors used don't make sense to me. I feel a pink flower and solid red flower would have made more sense than a black one and the colors would be tied to the with love compact. The way it is now, to me, looks unfinished.

If you decide you definitely want one of these powder compacts and your local Nordstrom's runs out, or if you cannot get it by phone from any other Nordstrom's in the contiguous US, call Nordstrom's in Alaska. Yes, Alaska! They're very nice and, as the sales rep told me when I purchased my Black Piano from her over the phone a few years back, most people in Anchorage are more concerned with survival than compacts in the outer parts of Alaska, so there is not a huge call for compacts of any kind.

Just something to tuck in the recesses of your mind if you need a Very Hard To Find or Limited Compact from Nordstrom's! (They also have a shiny Black Piano in the Alaska store! <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> )

I agree with Lisa regarding the use of color for the Petals of Love compact. Maybe when we get a chance to see it in person,the colors may mesh better. I probably won't buy this compact..unless seeing it in person changes my mind.
