I just received in my Yahoo bulk mail folder an email that read Lisa@SolidPerfume.com, so I didn't think twice about opening it. Thankfully, I've got Norton Anti-Virus because it would not allow me to open the email, advising that it contained the Beagle Virus.

I emailed Lisa to check to see if she had sent me an email, and she had not. Please beware because emails containing this virus are disguising themselves as people you know. The red flag will be if they arrive in your bulk mail folder.

I just posted about this in the help folder as well. One other tip off is that it usually has a .zip file attached and it will give you a number it claims is a password to open it.

Thanks so much Jack and Martha. I will be on the lookout for suspicious e-mails! <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ /> (googlebot?)

    Shame on those Hackers!! <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />

No, don't fear the Googlebot. The Googlebot is your friend!

Yes, as I already told to Jack, I received an email as sender SWISSLADY and the attach was “attach.zip” and the virus was Beagle 32, but fortunately I asked Norton to check it (I always check before opening any attach) and Nprton put the attach in quarantine.

My Yahoo bulk mail has 4 or 5 emails in it the past few weeks, which is very unusual. <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ /> So I just delete them. Nothing from any names on this site.
Thanks for passing on the info. It's much appreciated.

    Strange calling it the “beagle virus” . . . . beagles are friendly, but Jack says “beware!” <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />

    The Googlebot on the other hand, sounds dangerous, but Jack says it's our friend . . . <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

    Bizzare!! <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />

I received information from Canada on the Beagle Virus today. Have forwarded this to various members. Just hope that the protection I have on the computer will nip them in the bud!

Seems there are lots of viruses at present. These people must be nutters to keep doing this![/I][/B]

At our office today, our Systems Administrator installed spyware detection software <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ /> on everyone's computer. I was appalled to see that two spyware programs were on my computer, plus hundreds of cookies (all up to no good <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ /> ) tracking everywhere I went on the internet. I may be wrong, but bet this is how Don & Margaret's Ebay identity was stolen. Anyway, this software (and am sorry I cannot remember the name) tracks and quarantines all the “spies” and then you have the option to delete them or not. Some cookies, of course, you may want to keep, but it gives you the option. Just thought I would pass this along. <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />
