we need you back on here and all the rest of you that have shared your opinions and information about the solids. We all need to check back in and let us know how everyone is doing. I haven’t posted much at all but enjoyed reading about you all and learning so much! This site had made my interest really flourish on my collection. Are any of you still collecting? Or have other interest? Hope to see some of you back on sharing your knowledge and personalities. This site was awesome at one time. Let’s try to get it back!

Hi Debbie – totally agree !  Miss the ”old days” when we were all ”friends” and checked in regularly with each other.  I used to log in daily, and now its like once every couple of months. However, I will try to log in more often and respond to people like you who are interested in getting the site back to its old self.  Hopefully others will also respond as well as new people.  There are loads of new members who have never written on here.

 

This site also helped me get my collection going and enjoying it to the fullest. I loved seeing the scenes various members created at different times, and the stories we could write about the characters of the solids themselves.

I’m still sort of collecting – there are a few I never could get my hands on, so still pursuing them on and off.

However, I think EL have dropped off making really, really good ones that one wants to add to their collection instead of a re-hashing of the old ones.  Eg Carousel, Birdcage, etc

Hi Gallina – no, I don’t have any prototypes in my collection.

 

I could never get the English Rider, the Double Decker Bus, the Crown Jewel Guard or the One-Horse Open Sleigh.

 

Yes I am still looking to find them from friendly sellers. As you know, there are certain sellers I will not buy from. 😮

Hi Debbie, here is another ‘oldie’ checking in!     I stopped checking the site as I had some health problems but I live to tell the tale.    Yes, it used to be great on this site. Sharing stories and weaving them around the characters i.e. solid perfumes.   Meanwhile, have had a paperback published, but absolutely nothing to do with solid perfumes.    From what I can gather (although it is difficult getting my head around it) there have been problems here….   Sandra, I will look for your email address and write….    I still have your photograph from when you were in the U.K.    Pride of place in the dining room!      

 

Will try and look at more of the conversations I have missed here on the site and do some catching up!…… x

Sorry to hear you haven’t been well, but very glad you have recovered.  Time gets away from us all, and months go past when we’re all doing our own stuff that we forget to check up on our old friends. I’m sorry I thought you were just busy doing other things instead of thinking you might not be well.

 

Congrats on getting a paperback published !  Well done – I look forward to reading it soon.

 

There was a little drama earlier on, but all the posts from that have been deleted, and in short, the good fight was won. :wub:

Hi Sandra, thanks for your welcome.   Believe it or not, have not been able to check in until now but it was heart warming to read your message.     I am finding it difficult to get back to the solid talk etc., but hopefully I will get into the swing of things soon.      I did go to the IPBA Convention last weekend which was held at the Holiday Inn, Leicester.     It is a great event as everyone is so friendly and it is also a good excuse to see old friends.  

 

Have been feeling much better and am off the rejection tablet now.    I remember when you had all those issues years ago.      

 

Am reducing some of my collection now and will probably list some on ebay.    Anything you are looking for, please let me know.     

 

Still have the picture in the dining room…………   x

Where are the ghosts from yesteryear,

The ones who wrote and loved to share

Their news about the latest finds

Of Estee treasures (the perfume kind),
