Sandra
Take care. I will be thinking of you.
Ron<img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> Awww . . . . so many nice words are cheering me up !
I can feel the love from you all over here.
Don't worry, I'm sure I'll bounce back soon enough.
Isn't it weird – the cure makes you feel worse than the problem itself . . .
Oh well. I think it will take me the rest of the year in recovery, but after that I should be right as rain (as they say somewhere).
So – I look forward to feeling better again and thank you all for your kind words, prayers and thoughts. <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />
Take care, all of you – it's great you are all back on the site.

Hi Sandra! Hope you are feeling better soon!! I may just have to come back there and check on you <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Woody
We hope you are feeling better soon.

<img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> You are very welcome to, Woody !
Actually I was thinking of you and Troy the other day – I was walking my dog past the hotel where you stayed . . . also, I have found a great eating place at the Rocks that I'd like to take you both – I wish I had known about it when you were here . . . anyway – next time !
Well, to put you all in the picture, this is the calm before the storm so to speak. At the moment I am recovering from an Angiogram I had done last week.
In the next 6 weeks I will been having major heart surgery to repair a large hole in my heart that I have apparently had since birth ! I only found this out in February and have been having investigative procedures since then so the surgeons can decide how best to repair it.
I have had no major dehabilitating symptoms, and only found out by accident when I went to join a gym (first time ever !) and then went to have a check up to see if I was 100% to exercise however much I wanted . . . . I am not the fittest person in the world, but I have been pretty active and am in good shape.
The GP I went to heard a murmur in my heart and sent me to a Cardiologist for an ultrasound. That's how I found out!
All my friends and family are in shock at the moment because I look so well and have done all my life. The reality is that my heart has been working a lot harder than it should be and therefore is getting damaged as it is enlarged.
Anyway, them's the breaks and now I will have it repaired and hopefully be in better shape afterward. The bonus thing is that I am in the right city for such a surgery. The Victor Chang Institute at St. Vincents Private is where I'll be !
Woody – the hospital is on Oxford St. if you are coming over to check up on me! <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ /> (We went by it on the way to Bondi)
Sorry for the long blurb, just thought you should all hear it first hand now.
I have really appreciated all the words and thoughts that every member has taken time to post. Thank you all SO much !
Sandra, I hope all goes well with your surgery and you have a rapid recovery, Conni
Sandra, Hoping all the best for you during your surgery and recovery. Get well soon.
Hi Sandra, <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
I have not been on Solid Perfume for such a long time and Jacky contacted me today and told me of your heart problem, when she said Sandra I wondered whether it was you as she didn't say (from Australia). It was about a couple of years ago that I sold you one or two solids and I do remember you from then.
Well my love my husband has gone through the same thing as you are going to have he had an Angiogram first and then heart surgery, before that he had a donor kidney……..so to put your mind at ease he is fighting fit now………I know you will be worried but it is quite a common operation now as they told my hubby.
Just take care and I am sure like everyone else I wish you well and when it is all over you will feel so much better………my hubby did.
Love and Luck,
Elly xx <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /><img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> Thanks all for your continuing words of encouragement !
Elly, it's good to know someone has been through it and is so well now. thank goodness I don't have to go through the kidney thing at this moment in time !
Well the time is looming for my op – I have an actual date now so time will pass quickly as I try to get things in order before I take time out for it.
Yeah – it's a low % operation for a major one – Surgeon said about 1/1000 chances of complications . . . I only hope I'm not that thousandth person.
I am also told that I can have it done robotically, so that will be less invasive and hopefully that means recovery will also be quicker.
I am looking forward to being well and 'whole' again ! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> Literally !
Doctors reckon it'll take 6 – 12 months for my body to adjust to it's new and improved state, so I'll have to take it easy for a while it seems.
Thanks again for all the wishes and other news on the site – all a welcome distraction and good to catch up on what everyone is doing. It's SO good to see people from years / months back posting again. Keep it up !
