Hi to all of you. Every so often I like to go to the liveauctioneers.com site and see what they have going for perfume and jewelry. I just go to browse, its fun to look.
This is the site that has had the last two IPBA auctions on it. I don't know anything about this sale, its not my sale, I'm not involved, I just thought this was something this site would like to read about and check out.
In the search box at the top right hand of the page I put perfume. 152 items came up and one of the items is 43 Estee Lauder solds in a casplay case with the starting bid of $225. It seems to think these will sell between $300 and $500, I think. I wasn't sure from the description if there are 43 EL solids and some other solids or if 43 is the total.
The auction is April 20th, the gallery is Dumouchelles gallery in Detroit, MI. This gallery does not provide shipping, they do have some shippers listed. There is also a 23% buyers premium. In the picture I remember seeing a carousel, the mermaid, I think a coach and a peacock, the peach, — a lot of pretty solids.
I know you have to register to use this site, I have registered in case I saw something I had to have in the IPBA auctions, but I've never bought because of the buyer's premium and not knowing what shipping would be.
Just something to pass on to you all, I don't know if this is someone's collection, they also have a ton of lalique bottles in the same sale.

Hello Peggy, I also looked at this auction as a friend of mine who is not involved in perfumes, sent me the link. Was really excited until I noticed that the sale was in the States.
There are some very nice solids. Shipping to the U.K would be expensive and I do not know much about premiums etc.
Good Luck!
Oh, I'm not bidding! I just noticed this auction when I was looking at perfume bottles on the site and thought some of the collectors on this site might be interested. Happy bidding to someone.
You're right about the shipping, Petals. I haven't been able to figure out the new rates for international since the price hike, but I know they hiked a lot.
Peggy
Hi Everyone, Apparantly our shipping charges are going up yet again! I have to send items I sell on auction, signed for International. Cannot take the chance of a buyer saying they have not received although to be perfectly honest, I have never had an item lost in the post. The only time that (supposedly) happened was within the U.K!
For those watching the auction, there are a couple of really nice solids in that display case. Good Luck! Hope one of our collectors wins!
Still winter here! Happy Holidays to everyone…….
Peggy-
Super grab, but the auction charge is so high. I have never done any online auctions (well other than ebay.) Thanks for the heads up. I also noted that the shipping on the entire lot is outrageous compared to other online auction sites. We'll see how it all rolls out in the end!

The Lauder solids lot went for $3000. Plus a buyer's premium of about 20% and shipping. I guess that should give collectors a good feeling!

How right you are Ar! Things can only get better! 😉

I hate to say it but it looks like that wonderful lot that sold for $3000 is being peiced out on ebay right now. Sigh. I sure would have hoarded every one of them! I am not 100% sure of this, but it sure is a great coincidence that the ones I saw in the lot are all hitting ebay right now.
And the starting prices are extremely high…we shall see how quickly they sell.

I don't think they will sell fast for that high. If I had that kind of money to spend on them, I would want them MIBB for those prices, so I'm sure the seller will figure that out and price drop them. But then again, who knows! LOL!
