KK and Katita,
Your photos are great!! Thanks for sharing them with us. Of course I love the photos of the Las Vegas sign, front and back.
Hi All,
I finally got home last night. I took the long way home and stopped by Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon and a meteor crater site. I love our National Parks.
This was my first Compact Collector's Convention and I had a blast. It was so much fun to meet the folks on this site.
Woody & Lisa had the very best solids for sale. And Woody is the King when it comes to the solids. Plus, he's a really great guy, I love you, Woody.
A huge thanks to Jack & Lisa for bringing us all together. You two are the BEST! I haven't heard any talk about Miss Lisa's shoes and handbag. So, I'll start. They were adorable. It was all I could do not to take them off her feet. LOL! Lisa, we need the shoe cam. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
I got to pal around with my buddy Katita. We went Hotel Hopping. As many as our tired selves could see. Remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas………..and we've got the photos to prove it. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />
I got to know Nancy & Lewis the “Great Scots”. We had a spot of tea at the Mandalay Bay. A girls got to have a tea break when it comes to shopping for solids. We went joy riding to the Show Time Mall, the CCS and the LV sign.
Katita has a fantastic collection, we want photos now that you can use your camera. <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />
I was very impressed with the convention and all of Alvin & Roslyn's hard work in making it so much fun. The EL Forum shop wa beautiful. I have photos of the Brunch. Well, you know me I have photos of all the convention, plus. The Jay Strongwater Store was devine and so was the Judith Leiber Store.
Now, for my 2 cents on the new solids. The Pink Lady is cute and a LV exclusive, but it is a matchbox car with solid perume. To me it's not the great all time solid. I bought it because I was at the convention knew I would kick myself when I got home if I didn't get it. I voted for I like it.
It was exciting to see all the new solids in one place. They are beautiful and colorful. Some are better than other and the NM solids are quite large. I don't like the Dragon but, I like the Lanterns. And they are huge. It was a real treat to get my hands on all the solids and compacts. The CCS had Taj Mahal, Rollercoaster, some Strongwaters & GD. The prices were over $130-$40 off. So, I'm going to wait on some of the solids.
All in all this was a great experience. I had the time of my life. LOL! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Sorry this was way too long…………….
Thanks, Katita.
I'll email you some.
I love your photos, too. You did a great job!
I'm goin' to bed.Wow! Nice photos, KK. Thank you for sharing them with us.
I am truly envious!By the way, teach me what 'liberace' means. What is it??
KK AND KATITA…….A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU BOTH FOR THE PHOTO'S, YOU MADE AN ENGLISH WET COLD SUMMER DAY BETTER.
REGARDS…..MARGARET
Erica – Liberace was a piano player who REALLY DID DRESS LIKE THAT MAN IN THE PHOTO – he's an impersonator. Liberace in all his glitz was the definition of Las Vegas and the Liberace museum is in Las Vegas. He died in the 80's but his spirit lives on.
QUOTEBy the way, teach me what 'liberace' means. What is it??Erica,
Liberace was a classically trained American pianist who performed in Las Vegas, he was know for his extragavant costumes. He died in 1987.
KK & Katita,
You both did a great job with your photos and I enjoyed looking at them all!
Katita&Lisa,
thank you so much for your explanations. I've even looked up my dictionary because I thought it is a 'general noun'! <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ />
Thank you again!
Great pictures KK! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
It's nice to be able to put faces to the names we've known for so long. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
We hope to be able to go to the convention next year and meet everyone in person. (We're still jealous <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> )
Dear KK,
Are you up yet? <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />
Just wanted you to know I enjoyed your photos very much.
That new camera did a magnificent job and of course the operator
did not do too bad either. <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />
Hoping to go next year, your photos makes it so much more real.
Big thanks to Katita also, loved your photos especially the flowers.
Thanks again ladies! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
Thanks to all for your kind and generous comments. I love to take photos and share them. It is my pleasure.
Hi Pam,
I finally dragged myself up and outta bed. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />
Katita's floral photos from Wynn's are great. The flower balls I'm sure there's a proper name for them were outstanding. Some had orchids in them. I have several photos and when things settle down I'll post them with “find the solids”.
<img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ />Great job on the photos, KK, Katita and Lisa. Hope to make it next year, too!
