Thanks Carole and Sabina for posting information about this event held at the NYC Saks Fifth Avenue Store. I did attend it last night and wouldn't have known about it without your posts. It was a beauty junkie/cosmetic lovers dream come true that only a store in NYC could pull off the way they did. It also raised money for a NYC hospital and their OB/GYN department. The music was loud–real loud and very upbeat. They had young guys with their shirts off serving hor d'oeuvres, a person didn't have to look very long to spend that $50 gift card and there was something for everyone. They pulled out all the stops.
I went because Jay Feinberg (aka Jay Strongwater) was there signing his 2005 Fall/Holiday solids and all of his solids were availlable for sale and to take home. Jay would never come to my home states of Montana and Wyoming so this was a do or die chance to finally meet him. I also wanted to see the solids in person and my opinion is they are better in person than in the pictures. This collection isn't bad and I like them better than I thought I would although previous year collections were stronger. I did get the Beautiful Flowering Flacon for Jay to sign. Of course I had to get something for him to sign and to commemorate this event for me. As others have posted here, I found him to be very nice, cordial, interested in what I was talking about and yes I did mention to him about this site which he did know about us. There was an assistant from his company with him and she was really nice to talk to as well.
It was a great experience for me and I am in deep gratitude to Carole and Sabina and to Lisa and Jack because without this site I would have never fullfilled my dream to meet and talk with Jay. Thank you. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

Gigi, thanks for that great report and am so glad you got to meet Jay Strongwater and view the collection and pick up the Flacon (I thought this might be my favorite one, too). Thanks again. <!–emo&<_<img src='style_emoticons//dry.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’dry.gif’ />
Hi Gigi,
Thanks for the report. I've seen the new solids, but I want to hear more about the young shirtless men. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> LOL!Gigi,
Thanks for filling us in on the details of your meeting with Jay. He is the nicest! Happen to take any photos?
Something I do find strange is how come we (the collectors) don't find out about these events from EL? I did try to get Jay's schedule from EL to put on the site but was told by the EL reps that they would not provide me with any info. If JS is coming to FL for signings no one has let me know.

Gigi…I work for Saks and sometimes get a schedule of the events in the stores…I will post when ever I hear of anything special happening that pertains to “solid or perfume lovers” <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> …A few years ago I was a rep, and worked with another rep who worked for Jay…I was lucky enough to be included at a luncheon and dinner at a home in Atlanta with about 12 others and Jay <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> ..he was as nice and cordial as could be….it was a REAL pleasure meeting him..
CaroleThanks Carole, Lisa, KK and Martha for each of your comments and posts on this topic. KK, can't tell you anything more about the guys..just very young and good looking. I'm laughing with you. Carole, thanks for letting us know about Jay's schedule. Lisa, I was told this week Jay this year has traveled more than he ever has in previous years and his fall schedule is full. Don't know where he is going to be. His website (www.jaystrongwater.com) under the events page does list his 2005 Spring schedule so I would assume they would do a 2005 Fall one as well since I was also told he will be traveling a lot during the fall as well. Lisa, I am so sorry to say I don't have any photos of the Wednesday night Saks affair. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> I am royally kicking myself since I did have a camera cell phone on me while I was there and it would have been easy to take and send you a few. But did I think about using it?…nope…not until my husband and I were half way on the train back into New Jersey when the idea hit me. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ /> Duh and stupid, but I will always have wonderful memories. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
