    Hello Lori……… <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

What lovely pictures of your little girl…… the first snow is a magical momemt.

Many years ago our local round table charity used to put on a Christmas parade through the streets of our village, it was always done at night on Christmas eve. The whole pagent was very well done with Santa in a large motorised sleigh and people in Victorian dress holding lanterns. My son would have been about four the year it stopped at the bottom of our street. It was about 11 o-clock at night and I quickly woke my Son up to see it. Santa saw him at the bedroom window and waved to him and they all sang Christmas carols in the street, just to make it all perfect it had been snowing and the ground was covered with a crisp layer. I will never forget the look on his face and when I tucked him back in bed all he could say was ” Santa waved to me Mummy “

In the morning he could not remember a thing about it, but for me the night Santa waved to him was magical …………. You have all this to come yet……Its such a joy……….

Great pictures, Lori! Your little girl is adorable. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> The first snow is always the nicest. We rarely get it in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. But I had my fill of it when I lived in Iowa and New York! <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />

Beautiful pictures Lori and a lovely story Margaret.

From the sound of things Margaret, don't be surprised if you wake up
to snow before Christmas this year.

Apparantly we are due to experience a very, very cold winter and
    that means SNOW……

Pam, you are so right about the small wonders of life – any other year things like the first snowfall of the year just kind of came and went, but with having a new little girl, things like this all seem so much more wonderful and amazing, and seeing it through her eyes for the first time is like I am seeing it for the first time as well.

Margaret, what a wonderful story, thanks for sharing

And Sandra, wow, no snow until you were 19 – I was born and raised in Minnesota, so don't know winter without snow!:D

And thank you so much everyone else for your wonderful comments!! I really appreciate them!

    Hi Lori and baby Ella,

What a magical time Christmas is going to be for you all this year, and great photo's, of baby Ella with the snowball. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

You are so right when you say you see things through the eyes of a child as though it is the first time, and I am still doing this BUT with my grandchildren.

My memory is of my husband and I taking our daughter and son to Florida when they were 11 and 9 years old, and watching the Nativity scene on Lake Buena Vista.
People dressed in period costumes carrying lanterns and singing carols. Then going back to the hotel where they had a Mother Christmas and Father Christmas with all the helpers handing out presents for all the children, and we were in shorts and T shirts!!!
Totally alien to us Brits coming from a cold climate, to the heat of Florida at Christmas time, and now my children are 40 and 38 years old with families of their own, and it doesn't matter where we are, we still get pleasure of seeing the children enjoying themselves.

Everyone over the pond, I hope that you all have a Wonderful “Thanksgiving Day”

    Elly.

    HI ELLY….. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

ITS SO NICE TO HAVE GRANDCHILDREN, YOU GET TWO BITES OF THE CHERRY AND CAN ENJOY ALL THE GOOD TIMES ALL OVER AGAIN…… <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

MY GRANDCHILDREN ARE OLDER NOW AND I HOPE IN THE YEARS TO COME THEY WILL GIVE ME SOME GREAT- GRANDCHILDREN…….. WHY DO I FEEL OLD ALL OF A SUDDEN…….. <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />

A HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO ALL CELEBRATING.

    REGARDS……Margaret

    Hi Margaret,

It is when I look at the lovely photo's of Ella, it brings back all the

memories of when my grandchildren were that age, and those times are so

precious, you value every minute spent with them.

    We are NOT getting too old Margaret WE are in our prime <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> , I have

decided that we are going to have quite a lot of short breaks next year, doing all

    the things that WE want to do. (I have an endless list)…….. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

    Elly.
