Hi Sandra <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
It will be my first time at the IPBA and I am looking forward to it so much. It will be nice to meet old friends again and make some new ones….I hope.
WISH YOU COULD JOIN US <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Regards……Margaret
Hi All,
after just seeing the site with our European friends of E.L. solids and looking at the photo's, I didn't realise that there was so few collectors over there, or maybe some just couldn't make it!
Maybe in the future it would be nice to incorporate the two events especially as they came to London, it seems such a shame to miss out on the convention at the end of October, I am sure with all the organising that Jacky is doing that they too would have had a great time.
Once again Jacky I am sorry that I will miss the event as I will be in Florida, but hope all goes well, and I am sure all the people that turn up will have a splendid time.
My regards to everyone who attends.
Elly. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />Hello Elly and Everyone,
Yes alot of work is being put into the Convention here, which unfortunately
has limited resources. Am sure this will change with time. The UK Chapter does come under the umbrella of the IPBA in the States but it is on its own when
it comes to funding. To clarify, I am only one member of the group on the Committee. My
specific task set by the Treasurer and our other members, was minute compared to others. I must say
that Estee Lauder, Head Office in London came up trumps. They have really helped and hopefully the persons involved will be visiting the Convention on the Sunday.Terry and his wife and the other members of the Committee have been working
extremely hard and have arranged for various Speakers and we are lucky in having the slideshow of the Keynote Speech given to the 2005 IPBA Convention in Dallas by Christie Mayer-Lefkowitch.I am pleased to say that Woody will be sharing the event with us and is being
asked to give a round table informal talk on solid perfumes and compacts. I am sure he will also speak about his beautiful collection of other items and Margaret
and I will be with him so he will not have to look far for support! We have
a wonderful group of people attending and some well known Collectors from
the States flying in!Yes, it would have been nice to have had some of the European Collectors attend
the Convention. Room is still available should they wish to join. Perhaps
there is still time to entice one or two!It is only through a united effort that the IPBA and its sister groups will be able to continue with these events of sharing and learning. Plus the opportunity to meet one another to discuss and make new friends. The umbrella of this organisation is opening far and wide and if we want it to continue, then we must also contribute with our fullest support. The Convention is for Everyone and we really would not want to see such events disappear. The same way as we would not wish to lose Lisa and Jack's informative and special site!

me being a Rooky S.P. I thought that you were doing the organising, I
stand corrected, hope the rest of the team will forgive me, either way I am sure
you will give our overseas friends a superb time.
Regards to all,
Elly. Thanks for your Vote of Confidence Elly! You don't need to be corrected. Was a great thought! Thank goodness I don't have to be organising the whole thing!
An impossible task! <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />Sorry you cannot join this time.
<img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
Hi Margaret, I wish I could come as well . . . .well, to any convention that's happening! None over here in Aussieland, though it would be interesting to have some kind of fair etc. and to meet the 'thousands' of other collectors here! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Well, you never know how many collectors are really out there but here's to wishful thinking! <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ />
Hi Sandra, it's amazing really how many more Collectors seem to be sprouting out from Australia. Don't take offence at ''sprouting'' <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> So, could you
all arrange a Private Ozzie Get-Together until we all catch up with you ??? I can just see you Kangaroo Hopping ! <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> Over here we are near to Europe (obviously) and it isn't difficult to get to the States. Wish you were nearer to us in U.K.Thanks to this Site and that of SwissLady (Brigitte), you
can always lose yourself drooling over the new and older solids and compacts.<img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
For the newer members, click on to the Links button at the top of
the page and look down the list. SwissLady's link is there ..<img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />
Hi Jacky,
thanks for telling all about the link to Brigitte, WOW what a collection, have
you personally seen it? her house must be a museum to Estee Lauder, I have
never seen so many pieces.
This lady must have been collecting for years and years, I think she needs some
award from E.L., what dedication.
Thank-you again,
Elly. That is a brilliant idea Elly. She certainly has a wealth of
experience at her fingertips and it must have taken an enormous amount of time and dedication to do what she has.We often do not think of checking on the LINKS section but now there
are so many new people on the site, it is good that they are aware
of this. Thanks to Lisa and Jack, all this is possible.Well, back to the IPBA -U.K. CONVENTION! Hopefully there might be one or two
more members of this site joining….. STAY POSTED!<img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
Yes, Brigitte does have an incredible and very impressive collection-there is no secret about it but we all already knew that. <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />
I think it really would be great if more collectors meet up, I really wish I could have made the trip to Europe when Ann mentioned meeting up for lunch in a past post. I think it is great for those that responded.
I think meeting up with people in person is great and it cuts down on all the gossiping.
I do hope to see lots of photos and reports if anyone else has the opportunity. Hopefully Jacky will give us lots of great updates on the upcoming IPBA. <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />
<img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> Gee Ann (and others) that was some lunch meeting !! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
I'll be at the UK Chapter meeting too! Haven't attended since the inaugural event in 2001, so am really looking forward to it. Hope to see lots of you there. Lenore Hiers (past pres. IPBA) <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
Looking forward to meeting you! Have a good flight…..
<img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
HELLO LENORE <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING YOU AS WELL, HOPE YOUR FLIGHT IS A COMFORTABLE ONE, WITH NO DELAYS.

QUOTE(Jacqueline @ Oct 5 2005, 07:11 AM)Hi Sandra, it's amazing really how many more Collectors seem to be sprouting out from Australia. So, could you all arrange a Private Ozzie Get-Together until we all catch up with you ??? Wish you were nearer to us in U.K.Hey, if ever there was a get together, it wouldn't be a private affair I'm sure! We'd definitely have to get some of you guys over here to show the sights to etc. And as it involves hours upon hours of travel, it'd have to be more than worthwhile to have you go home and rave about it, wouldn't it !?!
Cities and states over here are a fair size, but thousands of km's apart, so you'd probably only get to see one or two collections . . . . in between 20 million kangaroos and other wildlife. You'd have to come out here for at least a couple of weeks just to get used to the climate and understand the funny accents . . . now who can put up with you for that long? <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> Only joking mate – I'd guess I would put you up for a couple of days at least then ship you off to see Karen, Dante or Fee with a well packed lunch . . . . <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Seriously now . . . . how does one go about planning these things? If we Aussies were to get together to have our own 'convention', Ken, Ann, Liliane anybody – what is the process? It's a fair hike just to have lunch together !
