Yes, I saw them as well. They didn't even bother to invent new designs. They have Sydney opera house, pineapple, taj mahal, etc. They do sell albeit at much lower prices. EL should sue them.

These are copies and as mentioned previously, Estee Lauder should sue the company. The inside is completely different, i.e. with the pearlised finish. You find this in cheaper items. I should imagine these are being made in China or somewhere in the Far East. No doubt they will be flooding the market and therefore I think Head Office of E.Lauder should be made aware of the situation. Any true collector or buyer of Estee Lauder will know the inside always has the name stamped. I am wondering what perfume is contained in the item. Shall write and ask!

Meanwhile we have all had enough of items being taken from the factory and stones added etc., Now it seems someone has taken it a step further. Hopefully not the people involved with the items from the factory and Warehouses etc. Now they have competition unless they are involved with the above as well. Who knows!

So all the new collectors, just keep your eyes open and do not purchase anything without checking for the NAME, THE LABEL (IF PRESENT), THE PERFUME (IF PRESENT). The giveaway re these items is the pearlised finish etc.

More on this later……but as they are not using the E.L. name, although I am curious what is written on the card of authenticity, I doubt we can do anything. Unlike the doctored perfumes!!

I have just written an email to the seller of these items saying they are obviously copies and where are they manufactured. I doubt I shall receive a reply. Just a thought…..they are using the same names for the items as E.L. i.e. The Little Red Barn etc. This is really unacceptable for collectors.

    Anyone else have any thoughts?

I think only EL can take action as they clearly copy their design. As the seller is not saying they are Estee Lauder solid perfumes, we can't tell eBay that the seller is selling fakes. What really worrys me is whoever made these will move on to try to copy exactly the EL design and sell them as such. It's sometimes very hard to tell when you only look at pictures. Most of the “designer” handbags selling on eBay are fakes and made in China. In China, labour is very cheap and the quality of the fakes can be very good. Some of them need an expert from the company (e.g. Dior and LV) to tell them apart!

Any ideas Sandra??? Wish Michele was on the site as she would do something about it, without a doubt.

    I am flabbergasted!

    Hi Everyone

Thanks Lisa for pointing out the copy compacts on ebay!

Does it really matter if the seller uses the Estee Lauder name or not? Um! The seller is in fact using Estee Lauder's exact designs, isn't that breach of copyright? It seems anything goes, fake refills, cheap crude copies of compacts or can't tell the difference fakes! I cannot understand why Estee Lauder will not act against these people, while they take no action their reputation is being affected and not for the better. Whatever happened to honesty and integrity?

Hello MitziMay, nice to see you. Seems like I have been neglecting my friends!!!

Yes, I agree with you. Ebay is still flooded with the perfumes in the small pots and now we have this to contend with. I did write to the seller and would hope that some of you do this too! It will disturb her, even if she does not stop selling the items. I wrote that these are copies of the E.L solid perfumes and do they come from China.. I also asked her to tell me what is on the card describing the item. So far, NO REPLY. I shall write again!

Can we all make an effort to write in the question part i.e. ''other''. The more she receives, the better!

If anyone receives a response, would love to hear!

Perhaps she got an enamelling set for Christmas. She is either using the original Estee Lauder solid perfume compacts without the perfume or she has access to the original casts & enamelling over the E.L. name as they appear to be exactly the same…would be interesting to find out.

    Go for it Jackie!!

    Hi Petals 🙂

Long time no speak!!! How are you? Obviously in fine fettle with the solids action lol I shall send you a private email over the next couple of days.

Outrageous that they can say they are not copies of EL, I do wonder if some people are living in a parallel universe. Some are quite uncanny to the untrained eye.

    Speak soon xxx

I have also discovered something very interesting about this seller. The items that she/he has “sold” keep reappearing for sale. You might say that he has multiple copies but some of the EL solids are quite old and unique e.g. One that has engraved on the top and it is not very often that you see them up for sale numerous times by the same seller. At first I was suspecting that he/she never sent the items but when I looked st his/her feedback, most of them were sold to one same buyer rks0608 and those were the items reappear for sale again. I am not too sure about the purpose of doing this. Items sold to other buyers never reappear. And this “buyer” rks0608 almost bid on every auction. I strongly suspect it is the seller who put in fake bids to bid up the price and when he/she put into too high a price, the seller won (unfortunately) and the item thus reappear for sale again. This buyer rks0608 bought the fluted heart “twice” which I think is quite unusual.

I recently bought a few things from this seller, and I could have paid a much cheaper price if not because of rks0608. Before Lisa discovery, I was just thinking bad luck, having the same person bidding against me all the time but now I think this is not a coincidence. I am still waiting for my items and fingers crossed I will get them!

The seller might see this and I hope he/she should know I will never buy from her again.

I have done more investigations and I think I can now confirm my suspicions. Rks0608 has bought numerous Estée Lauder solids and various items from the same seller. He or she has also participated in almost every auction. All the items he has bought reappear for sale. He has bought the super solid twice and the fluted heart twice. He has also bought a very rare jay strong water crystal vase twice! Of course this is because the item reappeared after he “bought” it.

He is now bidding on holt renfrew shopping bag, round cameo, yellow rose, love locket, ice skates, red lobster, holiday Rembrandt etc ALL OF WHICH he supposedly has BOUGHT BRFORE!!!!!!

I have to write to eBay. This is completely unacceptable.
