I only have 5 of them . The square ( page 28) , sunflower, round with bow, round covered in clear crystals and round black stones. I don't have the one on page 28 with the pearl. So that makes 6 that I know about.

If you want a photo I will try tonight.

Please I would love to see them, and it doesn't have to be one of your beautiful setting, just a quick snapshot , so I can know what to search for when I can

    Thanks

    Thanks Ann.

I have seen the round one with the bow….and of course the one in Roslyn's book but the others I hadn't seen, But her book values are a little off….LOL…. The last one I saw on ebay went for $185. and the round one at $150 on a web site somewhere.

Thanks a bunch Ann and Ken. Now my memory is coming back to me thanks to your post and pictures. Why couldn't I think of the date on these compacts…1995. I won't forget that year now thanks to your post! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

Mine is a round gold tone, with a large crystal in the center, then surounded by crystals in a circular pattern. It also opens the same as Gigi's, w/mirror, gold cover and powdered solid. If my friend w/digital camera takes a pic for me I will post. I saw the round w/gold bow on Passion for Perfume website, I contacted seller, but she gave it away as a gift since no one was interested in purchasing it! I was so sad! Phyllis may be away, but am sure she will post when she comes back. She also has a Kenneth Jay Lane that I believe was from the 70's. It's beautiful also. It's a faux coral stone surrounded by gold pieces of coral. Maybe she will post that one too!

No point in posting the same photos. I saw a different one on ebay a couple of years ago. Didn't win that one but it was a sort of nautical looking piece white with blue accents, not quite as elegant as these other ones.

There are 3 Kenneth J Lane solids in Gerson's Purse Accessories, page 36. KJL has always been famous for costume jewelry. He was very popular with the big Hollywood stars and their wives as some of them preferred his styles rather than wearing real jewels. At an antique show one dealer had a huge display of KJL. In a discussion wiht her she said KJL had made paste copies of all of Jackie Kennedys jewelry that she took with her when she traveled. Can't vouch for the validity of that statement. There is usually some KJL jewelry listed on ebay. The coral piece pictured is a nice size, 2″ across, heavy, excellent quality. I love the clunky free form gold look. The back label has “Sold for Kenneth J Lane – by Gryphon Dev, Inc NY NY. I am sure I have seen Gryphon name on other solids. Does anyone know if that company produced solids for other jewelers/designers?

    These are wonderful pictures! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

I will now set up collecting St John solids also (if I can find them!).

    Thanks so much!
