We had our American friends to stay in June and they had 3 weeks of sunshine. I don't know who was the most amazed, us or them.

Hope that dream comes true, can you just imagine us all sitting round a table…..Ohhhhhh the noise as we all try to speak at once.

I remember a few men there – I think it was Woody holding court, and there were quite a few of the European members too. Even Michaela was there !

It wasn't so much of a rabble, but a very relaxed atmosphere – I think we must have already done the “meet and greet” thing some other day – this was just like being with old (as in long time) friends.

I must have arrived a bit later (loooooong flight, you know!) and bumped into Jacky in the street – she was hurrying to somewhere and just pointed me in the direction of the gang . . . I couldn't keep up with her (what's new?) <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

A little late (it would seem) but was this before your visit to London?????????      Anyone in the group called Heston??    Mind you he spent some time in your part of the world so the Fat Duck could have waited……………………..    😮    I still haven’t been there Sandra……     x

HA !!  Yes, it was way before I went to the Fat Duck – I was there in 2013.  the dream was in 2009.  Heston was not in my mind at that time.

The Melbourne restaurant is nowhere as good, unfortunately.  I haven’t been there myself yet, so speak from 2nd hand experience.  I sent my mum there last Easter but she said the food/menu was ordinary – nothing spectacular or theatrical like the Fat Duck.  I suppose you go there with a huge expectation, so it wasn’t fulfilled in any way.  She sent me pics of the meal.  Nothing like the Fat Duck, so just a good time away while he was renovating his restaurant in Bray.  Then he leaves Ashley (his head chef) over here, but he has nothing like the personality or enthusiasm of Heston, and I am guessing the menu shows that.

Can’t think when I will pop over to London next . . . have just got two new puppies after my best furry friend passed away late 2015.  They are a handful but so lovely to be with.  They are too young at the moment for me to leave.
