Ok everyone ,your good wishes paid off for the folks in Fla. now we need them in La.
I spent the day packing up the solids for storing in a safe place and now we are told we may have to leave. There is not enough room in the car for 2 people , 4 cats and 3 birds plus the solids.:-(
New Orleans is already under evact orders and Ken has been helping the Shell shut down the plant( there goes gas prices).
New Orleans is under sea leavel and can 't stand a surge in sea level.
Baton Rouge( 60 miles form New Orleans) has never had to bug out(evact) but this time they are saying get out . Most folks are going to Houston. I of course don't want to go, seems like if you could stay you might could save something when the roof blows off. Flooding will be a big problem.Lisa I know what you mean about your dog geting sick— Birdies are very upset today and the cats are more awake then usual.
Got to get back to work– trying to put the solids in their proper box but it is taking too long so may have to just dump the in a watertight box and hope for the best.
Ann
Ann,
I wouldn't wish this storm upon anyone! Just do the best you can do and do get out, right now south Florida looks safe so perhaps drive south.
Last night we just started getting rain and today is gloomy too.
Do keep in touch and let us know how you make out.
The very best of luck to you and to any and all in the path of the storm. Be safe, drive carefully.
ANN AND KEN…..PLEASE TAKE CARE, JUST GET OUT TO SAFETY, I WILL BE THINKING OF YOU AND ANYONE ELSE IN IVANS PATH
GOOD LUCK….MARGARET
KEEP US POSTED.

Just take yourselves and the animals. The solids can be replaced! (ok, ok…I know. That line didn't work when I used it with Lisa either.)
Head down to Boca! We'll give you the 5 cent tour!
Hi Ann & Ken,You are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe and I pray your household is spared from all harm.
Stay safe,
KKAnn & Ken and everyone in Ivan the Terrible's path, please keep safe and check in here when you can to let us know you are okay. I keep watching CNN, and this is a bad one for sure.
This is probably one of the more upsetting hurricanes, only because the news has been screaming about it for days…or is it weeks? Normally you only hear about them maybe 3 days before it hits, but now they start terrifying people when they see the first dot on the radar…60,000 miles away. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />
Ann & Ken – I just know you got all the animals AND the solids out and are headed for higher ground. Be careful…be well…be safe…let us know….
Ann and Ken,
We sincerely hope that you get clear of Ivan without any trouble and that your home doesn't sustain any damage. Sometimes living in paradise gets a little hectic. <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ /> Our thoughts are with you and all who live in Ivans path. All of you have reached the limit this year on storms. (We hope). If we can do anything to help anyone just email us. We live about as far as you can get from any ocean, if that's any help. <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ />
You certainly have our love and prayers. Just get out of there before it's too late. Things can be replaced but not you two. At the last storm, Frances, we put everything in the safest place we could find and were prepared to run until we found the storm was moving north of us. So we sat and listened to the howling winds and rain and prayed for the people who were really getting blasted. It is a real frustrating, traumatic experience, evacuating your home especially with the animals. But – just do it! Be Safe! Nothing else matters!
PhyllisAnn & Ken…thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay safe!
Woody
Ann and Ken, you have my thoughts and prayers as well.
Boy, what a hurricane season this has turned out to be!
Gigi
I've been thinking about you two when I heard reports of the storm impacting Louisiana. I hope you stay out of harms way and remain safe!
I will eagerly await your next post, once the storm has passed.
Take care, Jeanette
