Does anyone know anything about this seller? Estee Cactus

I am always suspious when someone comes on with a small amount of feedback and has deals to good to be true and has a hard luck story to boot.

It may be true but I know if I was sick Ken would not ( better not) list my solids on ebay with a start of .99. <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />

Ebay is getting to be a scary place. <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ />

Just be careful and consider when you bid on a item that you are kind of leery of the seller treat it as a gamble. Only bet what you can afford to lose.

Don and Margaret,

Just this morning I was looking at all of the items HOSTAGETICKER had listed on ebay (at such a low price) because of his wife and medical bills, and noticed that the pictures of the San Francisco Trolley he was selling were exactly the same as another sellers pictures of the trolley.

If you really needed money and you know how much your items are really selling for why would you start your items out at .99 – Does not make any sense to me.

Please look at this on and let me know what you think

The name hostageticker (probably can't spell) is offensive after all the hideous news lately.
I'm sorry your photos were hijacked. I would say not an honest seller. Keep your medical stories to yourself. Everyone has their own misery.

Peanutbutter, yep you have spotted another example of him/her using someone elses pictures for the auction. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ /> We would say that the chances of buyers getting what they pay this seller for are slim to none.

What is really bad is that it's going to hurt Estee sales on ebay just when they seemed about to recover. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />

Every time I see a cheap solid or incomplete solid where the seller is from NY and has low feedback, I know what's going on. It's so bleeding obvious but to this day, I just don't understand why people are still bidding on them!!

Yes, report the picture stealing to ebay immediately. They should remove them.

I'm weary of all low feedback ebayers selling solids. The prices are too good to be true. Some of these low feedback sellers end up being great people, but I want to make sure they've proven themselves 1st. I don't gamble with $$ … except Vegas slot machines. I'm a cautious person by nature anyhow.

Not saying their story is true because I really don't know. Desperate people may list extra low just to make a sale. A little $ is better than no $. Plus, low start prices get more interest and a lot higher final prices (usually)…a gamble on the part of the seller.

Margaret and Don,

I asked Hostageticker to send me pictures of the inside of his Trolley – He emailed me right back and said he would send them right away (never received pictures of the inside).

I think your Warning note was great!! I would like to see the warning at the top of your page in Giant Red Letters…

Also have been contacting other sellers it looks like he is stealing pictures from and asking them to report him as it hurts their items as well. If I did not use this site I would not know which seller was stealing pictures and would not purchase from the sellers at all.

Maybe just maybe he does not know you can't point and click a picture and say this is what you are selling. Maybe he feels it is the same item so why not use the picture. I really do not feel this is the case – I feel the cheap items and the sad story are just that a story.

I am new to collecting Estee Lauder Solids and have had a bad experience with Ebay and have purchased all of my other solids from members of this site – and I probably will continue to purchase directly from the store or your members.

Bravo on what you did on your Ebay listing. Loved your PSA in the sellers payment instructions. A regular person who visits the solid perfume section on ebay can tell right away from your listing what kind of a seller you folks are. All they have to do is read, compare and then use their brain. I guess there is nothing like a grass roots effort to alert the general public about hostigeticker. The time has come.

I wish you the best on your auction-I really do. Love what you did displaying your compacts. The rose is a very nice touch.

I have kept my mouth shut on this Ebay issue of shady people selling compact junk and where they are getting them. I fear I might say something I later would regret. But I do have very strong opinions which mirror what everyone else has said about Ebay and Estee Lauder. What I can post now is Ann is right…Ebay is getting to be a scary place. But its very good the honest people like Margaret and Don have made the public aware of at least one shady seller. Again Bravo!

Just to update everyone..

I was looking at the Trolley Hostageticker had for sale and had asked to see photos of the inside. Well they did provide very fuzzy pictures of the trolley in the box with very fuzzy pictures of the inside showing the solid perfume on an oak table.
