Hi everyone,

First, sorry for being away so long- truth is I got so disgusted and discouraged about solids being sold on eBay, I'm not talking about collectors or others from selling, I'm talking about the warehouse sales, outlet stores, factory rejects etc……

I just gave up something I really loved and it just made me too sad to come to the site. Too bad it had to come to this but Estee Lauder I am sure could care less. Ann and Ken

YES!!!!! This last year has been very discouraging with the price of solids going down and down.

What we all have to remember is that this site that you created is not just about collecting solids. Over the years its become about friendship and trust. Just look what we have been through. Members come and go, arguements happen and prayers are said for one another in times of trouble, you should be proud of what you have created.

Estee Lauder are a big company and all they will think about is their proffit, and yes its true what you say THEY COULD NOT CARE LESS but to let this upset us is to let them win.

Just open the door a little wider now and again and post.

So happy to see you back Lisa <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> I for one will never stop loving my EL solids no matter what happens!!! And I have noticed one encouraging thing that has happened lately: All of a sudden some EL powders are being sold for top dollars, so I am sure the solids will become expensive again in a couple of years. Meanwhile I hope to finally get some of my dream solids while the prices are low. It's kind of the “swings and roundabouts”, for the moment the powder compacts are in demand, but what will it look like five years from now? For me the price tag only tells me whether I am able to get the solid that I want or not, it has nothing to do with how I value my collection <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

It is wonderful to hear from you Lisa and Jack. We have gotten depressed at times about the warehouse sales and other things but what keeps us going, in the long run, is that we love our solids. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

Nothing that happens and no matter what is said, that love always brings us back to this site. Lisa, you and Jack should be proud of what you have created here. As Margaret says, your site is also about friendships and being able to get together with people who love the things you do.

Hi Lisa and Jack! We have missed you! I am still enjoying all my “older” solids and really not buying any new ones at this point, but the friendships I have made on this website are worth more than any solid. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

I am leaving this weekend for Atlanta and look forward to seeing old and new friends at the IPBA Convention next week.

What Karin wrote about the compacts, I too have noticed. Also that the solid perfumes go in swings and roundabouts! I cannot think of the name of the
solid for the moment (one of the older ones with the long tassle). It went at such a high price and I was so happy to see that! I do think that the older solids
are much sought after now, which is very encouraging!

Meanwhile, I endorse what everyone else has written and can only repeat,
that it is great to have you back where you belong…….So Hello Lisa, and Hello Jack, (and you know how the rest of the song continues.)…………………………….

Oh, Lisa, I know I'm not the only one who owes you BIG for this site. All the people I've met and friends I've made through this site, all of it is because of you and Jack. You have been missed.

I love my collection, I've been searching the older solids for a while now. I recently purchased the Showcase from 1989 along with some others. It was a sale from a collector I “met” on this site.

You should feel very proud of what you have accomplished here. People are coming together not only for solids but story telling, jokes, life stuff…etc. Friendships have been made here and people from all over the world talk here and care about each other. BIG STUFF, I think!

Don't let the corporation garbage bother you – we, the people here are really what matter.

As for updating the database, I think Lady Luck 2006 (the dice) are missing – I haven't really checked the database recently, but I think that one is missing.

In every single post so far on this topic I totally agree with and have felt the same way. I am not going to repeat what has been so elegantly said by everyone here. You folks are good people with great ideas, thoughts and concerns. That is one reason of many reasons why this is a great message board and site to come to. Ditto for me! It wasn't the same without you.
I have slowed down on buying new ones unless I really love them. I keep looking for older ones that I want though my enthusiasm has waned. But… I'm in it for the long haul, I can't bear to part with any of my collection!

Referring to the older solids being more sought after, the burglars that ransacked my house recently didn't think so. Thank goodness!
