I just got the roller coaster and was anxious to finish my carnival and well…. yuk PetalsMemberJuly 23, 2004 at 6:08 amPost count: 2373
One which I was happy to trade was the Intuition Teardrop. I really do not know why I bought it in the first instance, but Michaela traded her Pear for this one, which I love.
I wonder where the Teardrop is now. Actually now I have written this, it is quite sad.LisaMemberJuly 23, 2004 at 3:53 pmPost count: 2664
I personally don't care for the larger solids- the circus tent, ferris wheel, rollercoster etc. but I didn't care at all for the lion in the cage from last year. Thought the lion looked cartoon like and it was expensive! <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ />Nicki169MemberJuly 23, 2004 at 4:42 pmPost count: 400
I am disapointed with the Estee Lauder 2003 Cupids Garden solid. It can only be displayed on a top shelf in a vitrine if you want to see the cherub. And the cherub is not that cute. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> I wish I had purchased the Shimmering Oasis or the 2003 Harrods Teddy Bear instead.favoritegramMemberJuly 23, 2004 at 6:25 pmPost count: 138
I was disappointed in all of Last years solids (Not including the Strongwaters) and did not purchase any. I usually always buy the Cats and Dogs as I love them but the dog last year was a big turn off, guess I saved lots of money to spend this year, LOL, LaineyVEGAS LADYMemberJuly 23, 2004 at 7:25 pmPost count: 976
I WAS DISAPPOINTED IN THE SHOW GIRL <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />
HER ARMS ARE TO THICK AND HER FEATURES ARE NOT DEFINED ENOUGH.
THE CRYSTALS ARE FAR TO PALE IN COLOUR AND THERE IS NOT ENOUGH OF THEM IN THE HEAD-DRESS.
AFTER SAYING THAT, I HAD TO BUY HER BECAUSE OF MY LOVE OF VEGAS <img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ />
IF I WAS TO SELL ONE ON IT WOULD BE HER.

Hey Margaret – there is nothing wrong with a show girl with a little meat on her bones <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> !

I agree that the rollercoaster wasn't as good as the rest of the circis pieces, and most of the 2004 solids weren't up to the same standard as previous pieces. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />
And Lola the Showgirl did not quite live up to her Vegas connatations . . . ie no glitz! Perhaps that's why Bob gave her the bustier . . . . <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />
However, I have to disagree with Lisa about the Lion in a Cage, Circus Tent and Ferris Wheel – I think they're quite fabulous pieces – but, yeah – bloody expensive!

This story doesn't really fit under this title, but it is a good one. This is what happens when a genuine Swedish blonde is buying solids:
I had the coffe cup and saw pictures of the teacup and teapot in Gersons book and thought they would go great with my coffe cup. As you may have noticed there has been some teacup listings on eBay lately and eventhough the prices have been high (well, compared to the coffe cup anyway) I decided to go for it. I also found a teapot, more reasonably priced.
The first on arrival was the teapot and luckily it had a box with it because I became utterly confused. It had no pink crystals. Since the box was with it, it couldn't be some Taiwanese copy but had to be a genuine EL. Gersons book didn't give me any clue so I checked the database of this site and that's when it adorned to me. It was the international version…
Now, get this: I had managed to make the same mistake with the teacup! So in the end I had the matching international set!
It is true what they say: Blondes do have more fun. Our lifes are full of great surprises!!

Hi Karin, I too have the International teacup and teapot. I'm on the look-out for the US versions.
I must admit that I wasn't sure that the pink and yellow would go together but maybe we can get some comments from collectors who have bought them.
How about it guys????ribbitdenverMemberJuly 24, 2004 at 10:06 pmPost count: 79
LOL ok I was all upset thinking the pot was a fake with no pink crystals – that was my first knowledge of International vs USA solids DUHpoodleMemberJuly 25, 2004 at 1:51 amPost count: 31
I am disappointed by the $400 price of the new Radiant Rooster fron Neiman Marcus!
Is it really worth $400? I am concerned about paying that much when others have received inferior new compacts recently. <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />

The rooster is one of the solids I will be passing on this year. It is a lot to pay. I think you will know if you like it or not by seeing it in person and really looking at it up close. <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />2cute4u2MemberJuly 26, 2004 at 2:17 amPost count: 276
The 2 solids that I didn't like were the show girl and Cupid's Garden. I returned my showgirl and exchanged her for the Strongwater bird's nest. My reasons for disliking these are the same as those that have already been posted.lauderladyMemberAugust 2, 2004 at 8:35 pmPost count: 340
I think my disappointment was the Peacock, I thought the feathers should have been rasied and spread.
I saw it on a trip to NY and even though it was the last one I just didn't care for it!
I know a lot of other people loved it though <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />
