Sadly I'd have to agree with Lyndell regarding the bad behaviour of some Aussies during sales . . . . NOT that I was one of them!! I avoid going to 'sales' as the crush and madness over here (in Sydney at least) is unbelievable to the point that it gets aired on telly!! People pushing others over and running all over the shop to beat the next to the 'bargain'. The stores are trashed at the end of it. From memory, store sales like that are rare – maybe once a year for a department store.

That in itself must tell you how deprived we are of real sales and how much we don't like to overspend!!

Ick!! It makes me cringe when I think that people have to tread on other people to get what they want!!

Thank you Lyndell for explaining the insane prices of the solids here. I've worked with advertising so I should have figured that one out by myself (I need a blushing, embarrassed smilie here)
By the way, Judith Leibers chicken is going for 580.00 USD here in Stockholm, quite a bargain, isn't it? <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />

It is very difficult for me to understand all what you are saying. I even didn't think EL could be on sale… I saw the Erte Powder on ebay but I really spent enough money and I didn't know the “real” price. But I am still dreaming of my astrological Erte Powder.
Thank to Fee for her nice and fast sale to me (no relation to ebay), the only EL cat I haven't was shipping ” USA only” so I have to wait.
I received my Teddy bear from Harrod's, I can confirm they charge £ 130 and £30 for shipping to France which is very expensive (no custom it's Europe), on ebay the Singapour seller only asks $ 15. It's surprising there is no gift or even a booklet about EL compact in the parcel. As you were planing a trip to Paris don't hesitate for all the Sephora or other perfume shops would have sent a perfume sample and a cosmetic.
It's depressing to buy something too much and find it on sale.
    Have a nice week-end.

Lyndell – we have a saying here: what costs nothing is worth nothing (sounds somehow dreadful, but I still hope you'll know what I mean)

Chatbleu – I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to get the Judith Leiber solids at a fair price. Just received my “red” “The Book” and they're all in there, waiting to be bought. And…was at Neiman's during their In-Circle days (about 2 weeks ago) and they have ALL the Leiber's available. I have a feeling we'll be seeing them in the CC Stores by Spring, if not before. People just don't want to pay that much for something others are getting at half the cost. In other words, collectors are getting wise to the down side of collecting. In short, the bar has been lowered. The trick is finding out how to get under that bar! <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ />

The Erte compacts cost $60 US and are just incredible. Very thick…plus the name of your “sign” is etched inside the compact…it's done in silver and just lovely. They, too, are all available, although there are less of some. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />

That's it for the week…you all have a lovely weekend…

The only Leiber solid I bought was the cat. They're too expensive for me. I'll buy them off ebay, but since there so unpopular, I doubt 'dealers' will list many. This will be the perfect opportunity for warehouse sellers to list. My best hope is cc stores.

International collectors please don't worry. You can wait and buy Leiber solids cheaper from this site or ebay. Harrods is a different story.
