Hi everyone. Just talked to Harrods. There are only 2 exclusives this year:
Harrods Bear 160 BP
Harrods Tube 210 BPI do not have pics as there are no brochures yet. The Harrods Tube is a replica (if I understood the description) of a Londay Subway Car. All the stars aligned and my order was processed today and I hope to have it within 10 days or so. As soon as I get the pieces, I will have some pics to post.
So, things continue to change, only 2 Harrods exclusives vs. the 4 in the past. But that's actually good for the bank account

I don't think many are happy to dish out over £200 for a solid right now unless it is limited. So we shall see.
If I see anything, will let you know. Meanwhile, happy hunting….
<img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> Oh I think that's very sad indeed ! I thought the Harrods solids would be the best sellers, so it's a bit of a surprise that they cut down so drastically this year . . . then again, it's a continued reaction to the financial crisis that is ringing around the world this year. Everyone has to cut down somewhere . . .

Hi Woody!
It's still quite early for the Holiday Season. Perhaps EL is waiting to see the response/draw from Collectors before they add one or 2 more. It's possible, yes?
From what I was told, they did not do so well this year! Not surprising as the prices were so high and we used to be able to purchase lovely solids for £100 – £200. But when they start at £200 + then forget it! Remember they used to issue a certificate stating only so many released. That went by the board and I am not paying nearly £200 for a solid which will be all over the place and not limits to how many they will produce. Sorry, but I think it is a cat and mouse game i.e. let's see how this sells and if it sells well we will put more out for sale!
No brainers, and as Zooey would say IMHO!Did you the the 2 new solids at Harrods? If so, what did you think?

No brainers, and as Zooey would say IMHO!That ₤100 or ₤200 translates into $200 to $350+ here in the US. (If the figures on this site are correct, the 2009 Harrods Bear will cost $325 USD.) Think I'll just hold onto my $ for a while…possibly pick out one (1) solid from this entire new collection and be happy with it.
Saw the Crystal Piano, Snowman and the Jingle Bell at an EL Outlet today so there's still many left over from 2008. Am sure there will be plenty left from this years issues also. (IMHO) <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
'nite all!
Hellow Chowlover, will make a post once I have seen them.
Michele, cannot believe they have the Snowman at the outlet store! At one time I was chasing this solid and could not find it anywhere! Well I do not feel like snow and ice at the moment, so will not even ask about prices!

LOL:) The price for the little Snowman in the Globe was 64 USD, which I still thought was a bit steep. It's so tiny! If you mean the regular Snowman…this is not him. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />
silly me!!!!!! <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />
I have just been told by another collector colleague here in London that they received an invite to Harrods for the 16th September. They will not be
attending and the account of the solids that will be there, is what we already know!Meanwhile, if any other collectors in the U.K. are going, will be interested to hear what you think of the new solids.
Margaret have you received any invitation?

I have seen one of the new Harrods solids i.e. the tube. Smaller than I expected. Not sure! The bear was not there.
Meanwhile, I also saw the general line which will be on sale in the States. They are really fantastic! Loved the takeaway Chines Box (not sure of the actual name). I did bring a list home but I walked through the park and it was so windy, I think somehow it was blown away.
Can you let me know the prices of the new solids in the States. Then I can compare with the price here. Am not sure if there had been an error with the pricing here so do not want to post until I hear from you. Normally the general line costs double here in the U.K.
Thanks for your help…… Really great solids being released and if they are half the price as here (if the prices here are correct) then……

Jacky – Do you mean a Chinese Take-Out Box?
I think it was a Chinese Takeaway… Will have to look again. Wish I had that dratted list. It was in the shape of a carton box and inside lots of different coloured crystals. The actual outside of the box was gold. If you cannot find it, let me know. As I said before, it is a long time since I have seen so many solids that I liked in the general line…
Over to you and hope you all enjoy your looooooooooong week-end!

It's called Glimmering Takeout (Pleasures) and it is actually one of the lowest priced solids at $89 US. It is a great solid!
