Could someone tell me how the Harrods solids were shipped? Was it Fedex or USPS …? That way I know who to look for.

    I haven't received mine yet. /ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ /> Looks like they charged my cc about 3 weeks ago now. ione1956

I haven't received mine yet.  😡 These are the only solids I bought this year. I always have problems ordering/receiving solids from them. I must be on their last to ship list…. Looks like they charged my cc about 3 weeks ago now.  😕

Hello, my Harrods Bear came via U.S. Mail. I had to sign for it. The post office said they could not leave it. I received my package middle of September. Harrods also called to confirm my credit card information before shipping.

    Hope this information helps.

    Regards,
    Ione 🙁

    Don't Fret <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> My Harrods just arrived – a long wait and such a process! I always have terrible trouble getting my package through customs. I've gotten phone calls saying my address doesn't exist and if that's true I want my taxes back <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />
Harrods called to re-verify my order when I was on vacation and my cell phone kept giving out….it was a difficult time but TA DA THEY ARE HERE!! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> I'm sure yours will arrive shortly <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

    Keep the faith!

    I like the Teddy Bear, he's cute. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
My husband really likes the clock tower, I'm still deciding. I'm not sure how I feel about the palace – I think the original one is better. I like the bus but I wish it was a little bigger with more detail. (I know, pick, pick, pick) but I still bought them so… <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />

    Really, I love the way they look displayed together. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

Let me know what you think….Katita

I am glad I am not the only one who has trouble at times with my order…this year wasn't too bad, but then it was at least 2 calls, and the confirmation call from Harrods. I have figured out that I need to know when the charge is about to go through to call my credit card company so they don't reject the charge…and now Harrods will call to confirm as well. The exchange rate was a KILLER this year…….I think they will be worth it <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

There is a Bear on ebay right now for sale at the cost price.

Someone should ''go for it''!!!! Even if it goes over the £150 in bids,
check out the shipping! I bet it will still be a good deal!!!!!!!!!

    <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> Yeah – a good deal if you can get it at 'cost' price I suppose. Don't forget that o/s buyers get the VAT reduction from Harrods when they buy ! <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />

Yes Sandra, but you did say the shipping costs were high!!!!! So you have to work it out on that basis. With the exchange rate for the States right now,
it must be very expensive! Re the Ozzie currency, I have no idea……?

Like Woody, I reckon it works out about the same when you buy in multiples.

The VAT reduction compensates the high postage costs in a way.

It would only work better on Ebay if the seller sold you more than one solid and sent them together.

The exchange rate for pounds and Aussie dollars has been exorbitant for so long that we are used to it! And shipping from the UK has gone up as well, so there's no 'win' situation here unless you earn your wage in pounds sterling! <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />

It's a loose loose situation financially for me. I live in one of the cheapest big cities in America. This means income levels are much lower than say New York City — very low. <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ /> Plus, the exchange rate with Pounds Sterling is a killer! <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />

Harrods solids are the only solids I bought this year. It's even a big stretch for me to purchase them. Good thing a made a few ebay sales the past couple of days or I'd be in serious trouble. My collecting for 2006 is probably over now.

Sandra's point has just reminded me that I meant to make a post
    a couple of weeks back.

Postage costs and shipping overseas has gone up here! So anyone buying and
querying postage, might want to know this in case they think they are being
    ripped off!

It is cheaper to receive from overseas than what it costs us to send!

    Hi Jacky…. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

The postal system sure has changed in the Uk.

At one time it used to be all sent by weight, now it goes on size as well…. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />

I think they have done it to make more money out of the people who do ebay.

If somebody buys a light item like a blouse from an ebay seller by the old system it could have been sent in a large padded envelope with a first class stamp on it, but not any more….the bigger the package no matter how light… the more it costs

    WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!

    <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> Yes, unfortunately it's getting to be the same deal here!

If a light weight item needs a lot of padding, then the cost of shipping a slightly larger box is quite pricey, as is the cost of insuring it . . . and that's just domestic shipping!

Also, price goes on distance here, so everything depends on which state you live in – Australia is a big country with many remote areas.
