Does anyone know what happened to Roselyn? I heard she collapsed early this morning.
I found out today after asking around how the new vouchers will work for the purchases made at the LV store and also at the Manhasset store. One more time we are getting screwed.
the maximum amount that any collector can receive in any given year which starts July 1st is $300.00 I originally thought that it was $300.00 per $1500 perchase, but it does not matter if someone buys $4500.00 worth of solids they will only get a maximum of $300.00 which will be issued in a form of a voucher and will be able to be redeemed only the following year on subsequent purchases. Which means, we will have to buy under our husbands, sons, daughters etc….and buy only $1500.00 per person.
They are doing this in order to cut Neiman and Saks out of the market, but I think if we call our reps at these stores, they will probably match the discounts and do even better….. Lets get together on this one.
Hi Suzanne,
What are you talking about?? <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ /> You need to explain this to me I don't understand what you mean.
KK <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
Hi KK,All the stores offer some kind of incentive to buy from them and the Las Vegas store & NYC Spa are offering gift certificates instead of a bag of cosmetics.
$50 for $999, $150 for $1000 to $1499 and $300 for $1500.Neiman's plan is $125 gift certificate for $5000 spent. All of the offers from the stores offering gift certificatres have fine print you have to read to see if the plan fits your needs.
Suzanne-I am at a loss as how we are getting “screwed”.
We have the choice to buy were ever we want – some people want the free lipstick and some of us prefer gift certifcates to use to buy more solids.Offering us a new choice is just that- a new choice- I prefer gift cerificates( used my $50 on the barn) as I have enough lipstick to last for the next 50 years. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
Ann
Hi all,
I didn't make it to the convention but will be in Vegas for summenr break in 3 weeks- I will look for all your dust tho-
I talked to my rep at EL in Cesars and ordered my new pieces which I can hopefully pick up when I am there- Sipan explained the voucher thing to me and I was kinda excited about it- After all every time I would buy something I got free lipsticks and or face powder stuff- I am glad to get a monetary break on my next purchase instead – Ann says she has enough free lipstick for the next 50 years?? Well guess how long my free lipsticks are gonna last- they normally give out the dead colors anyway- my lady friends don't even want them- let alone to the womans shelter I donate them to-= So a voucher is a 'Good” thing for meMark
Ann,
I think what Suzanne is refering to is if you spend $1,501.00 and beyond. You won't receive anything beyond the $300.00. So if you planned on buying solids that cost up to $2,500.00. It would benefit you to have someone order/purchase $1,000.00 worth of solids on your behalf. Than you would get and extra montary gift.I think the voucher idea from Estee Lauder is very generous and it better than getting nothing at all.
Lisa,
I agree with you. I would much rather receive money/credit to use towards my next purchase of an EL solid than another tote bag. I already have a ton of tote bags and makeup. When does the voucher program start? I purchased $1500 plus of perfume and powder compacts at Ceasers Sunday. I did not get a voucher!

Call the store and get the details. The name is True Rewards Program. You have to register for the program but if you call the store they should be able to do it by phone. IMHO they should have registered you and they may already have. You need to ask them if they did. They mail you the certificate when they update every 6 months.
You have 6 month to redeem it from the issue date.
I will try to put the fine print on tonight.
Ann
Hi Ann,
Thanks for explaining the vouchers. Sounds like a good idea. It's always fun to get a little extra <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> back.
KK <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />Hi Everyone!
Did not get in until 2 a.m. Tuesday morning (today) and am still fighting the time difference.
As far as the “True Rewards” program goes, I believe it only applies to purchases made at the Las Vegas Store or from the Manhasset Store. Strictly an Estee Lauder Stand Alone Store promotion, and it's been going on for years. You can use the Voucher for solids, or for make-up, creams, etc. The amount of a “True Reward” depends on how much one spends in a fiscal year (January through December.) I believe it's done once or twice a year, but am not sure. You can check with Micky <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> or your SA in Las Vegas. They're very happy to explain it to anyone interested.
Regarding the solids, am still thinking them over. Believe it or not, I LOVE the Monkey! He's my favorite of the Leiber solids. I'll post what photo's I took at the brunch, but they're nowhere near as good as Jack's or Ann and Ken's!
You really have to see them in real life to appreciate how pretty they are, but I'm getting a little tired of the ladybug too. Enough already! <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />
Here goes…strictly from an amateur's lense:
The 3 Jay Strongwaters…
Judith Leiber…
And my own personal favorite…The Monkey!
Attempted to load the “General Distribution” but am afraid I've exceeded my limit! <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />
Will try them again later in another post.
Had a wonderful time at the Convention, met many wonderful people, but it's so good to be home.
Am I the only one who noticed the heat? It might be “dry” heat but 109 degree's is a teensy bit hot for me. And that was in the shade! <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ />
Ok…now I'll give the General Distribution a shot…it seems to be a “Good Luck” theme, considering the 4 Leaf Clover, Horseshoe and Ladybug. Didn't get the Cameo…it slipped away! <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />
Let's see if I have room for the Boot!
That's it for my pix of the solids….it was a super fun Convention! Thank you to everyone for being so welcoming…truly a fantastic group of people! <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
Hate to start WWIII, but Suzanne does have a valid point. If one spends $1,500 and receives a $300 certificate, then one should receive another $300 voucher for the next $1,500, regardless of which “fiscal year” it falls under. (Although I did think you had to spend $3,000 to receive the $300 Voucher.)
On the other hand, Lisa and Ann have a good point also. It's always a pleasant surprise to get a “reward” just for buying things we love.
Go ahead…fight amongst yourselves and get back to me! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Thanks Michele for sharing your photos. They came out very nice. I don't have any necklaces in my solids collection. But the four leaf clover maybe one I have to have.
Thanks, Barb. The four leaf clover is one of my favorites in the General Distribution collection, followed by the upside-down horseshoe…another good luck piece. Too bad I didn't have one of each at the slots! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
