    Hi all,

Just wanted to point out some auctions on eBay that appear strange. Keep a close eye on others that bid on the auctions. Shill bidding is when a eBay seller has a friend or another eBay user ID and uses that to pump up the prices of their auctions. You may notice similarities of user ID's or check feedbacks and you may see some of the same names coming up again and again.

    Please keep an eye out.

    Thanks for the warning.

I have a terrible time noticing this.

On a similar yet different note: That's why I don't trust private auctions, which are more difficult to determine shilling. I can't understand why so many sellers are using private auctions for older solids. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />

Well to avoid all this, basically if I need something for my collection, I decide the maximum I am willing to pay for it and that's my bid. You just have to approximate the market and set your limits. I've learnt my lesson on Ebay and I just don't bid on the first one I see anymore!! <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />

    Anyway, usually if it's a 'goodie' there's always a couple of people who need it more than I do!! <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

    Dear Sandra,
    I always knew you had a good head on your shoulders. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
I basically do the same as you set a limited and stand by it, though I have got caught up in the heat of the moment and bid more than I intended to. <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />
Of course, you are right Sandra there is always someone who needs it more than we do. <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ />
