Two or three years ago I ordered several solids from Harrods and the sales woman asked me if I would like the Estee Lauder display case.
I said okay and she shipped me a huge, navy blue, high gloss display box.
I don't know how much I paid for it because I never did the conversion from
pounds to dollars. Does anyone know what this is and is anyone interested in buy-
ing it from me?Is this the box that you really can't display anything in because it doesn't have a clear top? Large and rectangular? I have one that was supposedly produced for a special store anniversary (Saks or Neimans, I'm too lazy to look) and then I found out Harrods sold them too. I believe I paid $125 – U.S. dollars.

I believe there was one which was put in a raffle at one of the Conventions in the States. There was also one like Sophiegold described which was very very expensive.
Brigitte, have never heard of Harrods giving one of these as a gift! That has knocked me for six <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />
Brigitte is right, Harrods offered it free with purchase but you had to pay seperate shipping which was very high so I declined the offer.

So there were two boxes….i.e. a small navy box and the very large display box which Sophiegold is speaking about. I remember taking pictures of the larger display box but they have since been deleted. Wish I had kept them now as I could have forwarded …….
I'm glad to know that I didn't pay anything for the box, except for the shipping.
If anyone wants this display case they are welcome to have it. All they have to
pay is the shipping.Appreciate the offer to all of us Sophiegold! Unfortunately to ship to the U.K. would cost a fortune, so that counts me out.
Margaret, hope you get around to reading these posts! <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />
I think one was put up for auction once, could have been at the U.S. perfume convention….or I could be getting mixed up.
I also think that there are smaller ones perhaps in red and white. The trouble is they are such heavy boxes and not much use for open display.

Here comes the link to the 2 different boxes.
Harrods had the very same one just in white 1 year later.
As my nephew is a pilot I had him pick them up in London so I could save the shipping <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />

Thanks for the photos.
I guess I'll just hold onto it until I come up with some use for it.My box looks just like the Harrods box butit has a plaque saying it's the Neiman Marcus Anniversary Box.

Thanks Brigitte for the link. At least my mind is clearer now as I recall that box being included if you purchased the solids which were in it. I was not keen on all of the solids at that time.
BUT the box I was thinking of, was a self standing one. It was transparent although navy blue (if I remember correctly) and I know it was for sale. I recall asking the price and it was high and was told only a few were available. I would not have had room for it but it was definitely one they were selling. This is the one I thought Sophiegold was referring to i.e. not the smaller navy one which was not so good for displaying items (as Margaret mentioned).
I might be barking mad, but was not barking up the wrong tree!
Margaret can translate if necessary!!!!!x
