I've been reading this post and “taking it all in” and I recently decided to cancel my order for the new solids coming out. I don't see the point in spending big dollars on the new solids. I've been trying to fill in the blanks of my collection so far. There are so many older solids I would like to have. I'm waiting to see what's at the convention. I'm more excited about meeting everyone then I am about the new solids coming out.

    Hi Lainey,

I am not looking to collect the Tutu, I was looking for you, I remember you asking me to check out the outlet – but it seems there are none there. Try ebay as Lisa has suggested or see if anyone on the site has an extra..

Not sure if I will be going to Palm Springs .. Have so many problems at home (broken water pipe in wall, Southern Pacific Rattle snake in my yard, husband driving me nuts)! <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />

Have just read your post P.B. It has really made me <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> Burst Water Pipes, Rattle snake in the yard and last but not least, 'husband'.

You sure have a deluge there! Now my question is, which is the worst scenario???? I have one reply to you……''Everything comes in THREES!''

Lainey, I have been looking for the TuTu and the Dragon……….but it is all to, tooo much! Ugh! sorry about the Pun. If I come across two (not being funny here either) at the same time (it does and has happened sometimes) I will give you first option2buy!

Now I am still laughing at the last post. Thanks for putting a <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> on my face!

    Hi Mary
Seems like now would be a good time to go and get away from all that. LOL! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
    It's only about 112 degrees in Palm Springs. <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />
    Let's see rattle snake or 112. I'll take the 112. <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ />
I hope all goes well around your place.

We are visiting Hilton Head Island, S.C. next week. Do any of you know anything about the company store there. Any idea of what solids they have on hand now. Appreciate any information any of you may have.

    Thanks,

    Lauderlover,

I think the whole thing is just ridiculous!!!  [Mad]

    Dear Estee Lauder,

Here is a very simple solution regarding selling solids at the Cosmetic Company store-  stop selling them there!!

I know I hate it when I see a solid at the CCS for 20% off retail knowing that I paid full price.

The powder compacts are 30% off. Not sure about the solids, but I believe they are also 30%. That's a nice savings IMHO.

    2cute:

Thanks so much for responding. Thirty percent is a good deal. The most I've ever gotten was 20%..

    Wish me luck!

Ok..here's are my 5 cents worth. To answer Lisa….nope..not a chance will the boot now sell for even close to retail…even with both boxes.

I too have stopped buying the new solids. I returned a few of the newer ones that have dropped in value due to what has been happening. I bought those at Nordstrom's and so returns were relatively easy. I still have one that I bought at SAKs…don't think that one is returnable…has anyone tried to return a MIB from a year or 2 ago?  However, I will call SAKs and express my anger that this has happened.

I am pretty much done with my solids search. The only one I really want is the 1st Harrod's bear. I will continue to buy the LV solids…if I like them and if they contunue the “gambling/casino” theme…otherwise, I'll pass.
If the Harrod's bears are cute, I'll probably buy…if not, then I wont. I dont have the hatless bear or the one in the red suit…cuz they don't appeal to me.

Good advice…to buy what one likes when it comes to collectibles. However, I have seen many collectibles plummet…Barbie, beanies, Madame Alexander, Boyds, Lennox, Steiff, etc.  Manufacturers flood the market, prices vary way too much and these collectibles are not worth a darn when it's all said and done and we, the collectors are stuck with what I call “dust collectors of a money pit.”

I say we all boycott EL solids, powder compacts and ALL of their products..including those sold under different names.  And if EL threatens (as they have in the past) to quit making the solid perfumes…well…frankly EL, I don't give HOOT! <img src='style_emoticons//mad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’mad.gif’ />

    MitziMay:
I returned several solids to Nordstrom last year that I purchased in 2003 or 2002 because the clear plastic was turning yellow. They will take them back if you have NOT used the perfume and still have your receipt.

Thanks Ar. There are not many companies like Nordstrom that would take goods back after such a long time, well done Nordstrom. Unfortunately I do not have the original receipts but after reading your comment, from now on I shall keep all my receipts.

    Thanks again!

    Hello Friends,

Does anyone have a list of the company stores and where they are? Are there any in the Atlanta area?

    Linda in Hotlanta <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ />
