Does anyone have any info about how EL decides on the designs for the compacts each year or for each store? Since I am from the home of “The King” I would love to see some compacts related to him. I would be “All Shook Up” if they could do something with a related theme. And since I love shoes I would like a pair of “Blue Suede Shoes”. I would be ecstatic and would be in “Graceland” (Sorry about the use of another performer's song). “It's A Rainy Night in Georgia” (Tennessee) that nothing has been done so far.

EL has never shared its mysterious choice of solid designs. I doubt we'll see anything related to Elvis because they'd probably have to pay royalties to his estate.

The King died on August 8,1977. I was in residency and a senior medical student came running into the doctor's lounge and said the Elvis was being resuscitated at Baptist Hospital. Needless to say everyone was trying to figure out who they knew that was over there and could be called to verify it. Memphis went into mourning for about a week afterwards. Every year there is a week long Elvis celebration and people come from all over the world for it. There is a candle light vigil outside of Graceland the night before his death date.
I would like to see a pair of Blue Suede Shoes. Since the company has done building and planes before, maybe they could do Graceland and the Lisa Marie.
    Hope this helps/

Elvis in Estee series….it does have a certain ring to it! LOL! There are a lot of possibilities with that theme…a heartbreak hotel, platinum record, elvis teddy bear, return to sender letter…. I would love to be a solid compact brainstormer for Estee. I wonder who their chief designer is now? I know it was Bob Conte, and of course the special guest designers. Hey, Priscilla or Lisa Marie could be the Estee guest designer…You never know, maybe someone from Estee enterprises might read our suggestions!

I realized I deserve 30 lashes with a wet noodle. He died Aug. 16, 1977. His birthday is Jan. 8. My sincere apologies to those who are true Elvis fans. However, after more that 30 years my memory isn't the same. Besides, he's still around. You can see him walking around if you visit Graceland. He hasn't left the building.

Well that would get Estee a high jump in sales – “Blue Suede Shoes with the inscription 'He is alive' MIBB designed by Elvis.” Of course the second compact released would be a little tiny gold casket of Elvis for those who believe the king IS dead! And a Graceland, Priscilla and Lisa Marie to complete the series!!! <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> hmmm wonder what perfume they'd put in Elvis? <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />

Ok it's late and my humour is getting drier with time!!

He probably at least splits his time between Memphis and Las Vegas. He was at my daughter's rehearsel dinner last October. I even have the lei he gave me! He was wearing his white jump suit on that occasion.
