I didn't see this one Sandra! There have been alot of Carousels for sale
on Ebay and this normally causes a fluctuation in price.

Let me know next time! Meanwhile I have seen some items reaching realistic
prices and I suppose when the new collectors cannot find these items they will
do what we did and pay the price!

    Who knows! <img src='style_emoticons//huh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’huh.gif’ />

Yeah – I didn't see it until late – with only a few hours to go. Unfortunately the seller would not let people outside the US bid, so I could not acquire it for you.

So some lucky US resident got it cheaper than usual! <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />

    I guess this may have contributed to the lower price range too . . . . <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />

I watched the carousel all week and wondered if it was going to meet its reserve. The morning the auction ended it was still at $228. I imagine whoever won it emailed the seller and inquired about the reserve price which was low. I've only been colleting for a year and the carousel was going for $1250 when I started collecting. I wish I had gotten the bargain, but am saving funds for IPBA convention in May!

Another one I missed! I really haven't been watching Ebay much of late,
so I suppose I should start right now!

Meanwhile, great that you will be attending the Convention. Ours in the U.K
is going to get BIGGER AND BETTER.
I shall make some posts once I have more information but, we will be enticing
''ya all'' with venues possibly in the heart of London and hope to see you
coming over by the dozen to enjoy what London has to offer!

    SO START SAVING YOUR DOLLARS! <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

    I couldn't find the $228 carousel.

Eh, I'm too poor to add to my collection these days. I need to landscape the backyard. Its nothing but dirt and 5' tall weeds. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ />

Seems like you and I are missing the goodies! So am checking everything

Perhaps the winner placed a higher maximum ($700, $800 or $1200, for example) bid but no other bidder offered more than $500 (or whatever the previous maximum bid was at the time). The winner just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I think, too, because the seller did not ship outside the US that that minimized the competition. <img src='style_emoticons//cool.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’cool.gif’ />
    I wonder which year that compact was from. <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />

<img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ /> Has anyone else noticed this? Carousels on Ebay IN BOTH BOXES have been getting lower and lower !! Once selling (not too long ago) at prices near US$1200.00, the most recent one selling for HALF of that at US$600.00!

In between they have been going at around $900, then $850, then $760 and now $600 !!

I just can't believe that once a highly sought after solid is now going backwards in value !!

Then again, someone once said (I think it was Ann or Ken) that they didn't understand why there was such a demand as they were made in both 1999 and 2000.

I guess where price is concerned its swings and roundabouts <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> The Carousel is a beautiful compact so if you own one (whatever its current value) enjoy it!
