Since I'm a new EL collector I need everything!!! /rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ /> I went through Roselyn Gerson's book and wrote down all the solids I want to add to my collection. I turns out 1999 is my favorite year for solids, with 1995 following closely behind.

1999 covered all the bases with the pink crystal rose, the cowboy hats, the party cake, pink tutu, ballet slippers, dragon and carousel. There had to be something for everyone that year. Of course this is just my opinon.

So what year do you think was the best and why?

P.S. I wanted to change the l in the subject/title to a capital letter for Estee Lauder (EL). But I guess you can't edit to do that.

Oh, Barb, this is a very hard question <img src='style_emoticons//ohmy.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ohmy.gif’ /> You are right, though, 1999 was a very good year with loads of beautiful pieces. I like the ivory pieces from 1981 and actually the whole 80's decade appeals to me because of the art deco theme. These are some of my favorite solids <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ /> (but hard to come by <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> ).

Gees Barb – this is in the too hard box for me . . . . I'll have to get my thinking cap on and get back to you on this . . . I think you are right though, 1999 had some lovely pieces come out.

This was a hard one for us but we finally vote for 1995 as the best year. The frog on a lily pad has always been a favorite of ours. Then there is the pink cat's meow (also a favorite) and the eggs and balloons. What a year! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

    I think that is very difficult to answer <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ /> . Lots of nice solids were made over the years and I love all animals and nature ones. My favourite of all is everlast my little dragon <img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ /> <img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ /> and so I think 1999 was the best year.

My favorites are the ones made in the past 12 years in general. 1999 was a very good year. I liked 2002 also….1st set of Strongwater solids….+ train, America's apple, wedding cake. How about '98? Love the fruit solids (still working on acquiring some).
