It was soon to be Bob and Lola's 5th year anniversary.

Being ever the romantic, Bob decided to celebrate it in style with Lola, after all, she was his gal !

“Lola honey”, cooed Bob, “how 'bout we take some time out and go on a cruise for next month's anniversary?”

“Oooh Bob !! You certainly know what a girl likes, don't you!”

Bob scooped her up in his big bear arms and planted a kiss on her. “Which place in the whole wide world of oceans do you want to explore?”

Lola fluttered her eyelashes. ''Oooooh''she purred, ''There aren't many men who would be as considerate as you… As thoughtful as you……as handsome as you….and…….'' ''And'' Big Bog grinned, ''now stop flattering me and just tell me where you wanna go!'' Big Bob planted a big smackaroo on Lola's cheek. 'Well I really have to think this through Big Bob! I really need to sit down and think and meanwhile if anyone has any ideas, then I would be happy to listen!'' Big Bob scratched his head in thought. ''To be honest with you darlin, I can't think straight right now. We got the match coming up on t.v. and I gotta be watching this English Football!'' ''Let's kick this thing around a bit later and you know what? I got money on this match and if England don't win, then I might be a bit broke…..so COME ON ENGLAND… HELP ME take my Lola away for a wonderful time…..!!

    Lola smiled….. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />

[Personally, I thought big ol' Bob was a Texan . . . however, the result of 1 – 1 is apt.]

Texan or no Texan, Big Bob knows a good thing when he sees it, or so he thought!

The Brits are suckled on football so should win! Last night's game was……..a wash out! But……we still got time and as it was a draw, Big Bob is still OK financially…

    So………………………………….

''Well'' Lola sighed. ''Seems like we can now expect all the ideas to flow!'' 'Yeh! Big Bob grinned. ''A draw is kinda OK and for a kick off, not that bad!'' ''Yes darlin, now we can put our heads together and decide on the intinerant itinerary (or whatever that means)!'' ''Maybe we can visit England again?'' Lola smiled. ''Maybe we can do another worldwide trip?'' Big Bob scratched his head again. ''Maybe Baby……who knows?????!!!!!!!''

Bob emptied the mailbox with his big paws, and found the brochures he had ordered on line for Lola and him to browse.

    He read:

White Star Line Majestic: The World's Largest Ship

An Ocean-borne Palace – As the world's largest ship the Majestic has a claim to distinction apart even from that of her celebrated associates, while the proportions and elegance of her passenger accommodations are in consonance with her size and dignity.

All her usual crossings are made in less than six days. Impressive size and superlative luxury characterize her public apartments, while her staterooms represent the highest standard of excellence in equipment and facilities for service.

“Ah – this will be the one for us !” beamed Bob, getting all excited. He couldn't wait to get away with Lola again on another adventure.

There were several routes they could choose from, leaving from New York or Boston to Liverpool or Southampton, and then onto Europe or Australia and New Zealand and returing via South Africa.

Being a true romantic, Bob figured it wouldn't matter where they went, as long as it was in style and they were together.

Lola picked up the brochure, saw the word “Palace,” and the decision was made. Bob and the Lovely Lola hopped into their Pink Cadillac and raced off to the docks, hoping to get a tour of the Ocean Liner before they booked a cruise. Oddly enough, the ship was empty…almost looked abandoned, sitting there tied to the wharf.

“Doesn't look much like an Ocean-borne Palace to me,” quipped Bob. “Looks kind of fearful, if I must say.”

“Oh Bob…you're always thinking the worst. Let's just pop on board and take a look around. See, there's even a plank to get aboard!” Lola was positively beaming, thinking she and Bob could tour the ship with no large groups of people…just the two of them. How romantic! <img src='style_emoticons//wub.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wub.gif’ />

''What's that noise?'' Lola grabbed hold of Big Bob's arm… ''Did you hear that?''
Big Bob stared around in amazement his round eyes turning which way and that <img src='style_emoticons//blink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’blink.gif’ /> trying to get a handle of what was taking place. ''Think we'd better get off this ship honey. Think we'd better walk the plank again!'' With that he grabbed hold of Lola's hand, steering her back towards the entrance so they could disembark.

As they drew closer and closer to the plank Lola began to feel a sense of relief. ''What a ship Big Bob!'' she gasped, trying to take control of her fast heavy breathing. Her heart was racing with the exertion of keeping up with Big Bob. It had been a long while since she had seen him exert himself to this extent and if this was not a warning that she needed to get into shape, then she did not know what was! ''Come on Lola. We gotta get off this ship as I got these feelings deep down to the tip of my toes and somethin aint right!''

''The plank?''Lola cried out ….''The Plank, it's moving Big Bob!'' Big Bob stopped in his tracks. A couple of feet more and he would have been headlong in the water. ''I can't swim Big Bob. I can't swim!'' Lola cried out clinging onto his arm in desperation. 'Okay Honey, don't fret. I aint goin any place without ya. Think of my arm as a water wing!'' ''A water wing?'' Lola screamed hysterically. ''A water wing my……..! 'Your what honey? Your life saver, your strong arm, your everythin to me and …….'' with that the plank disappeared completely and somehow they were aboard at sea, alone, frightened and wondering what on earth was going on. Deep down they both realised that this is where things were going to happen, and all they wanted was a wonderful holiday aboard a luxury Liner which Sandra had googled for them! Oh well!

As night fell, the “Majestic” Ocean Liner seemed more like a tomb than a ship to Bob and Lola. All they could hear were the sounds of the swells hitting the side of the ship, while the white caps were growing larger by the minute.

Bob decided they should try to get to the Bridge and hopefully radio for help…if indeed there was any working ship-to-shore equipment they could operate.

The Liner was the length of 2 football fields. In the dark, Bob feared greatly for their safety as they groped their way along the vast deck in search of steps to the Bridge.

Lola suddenly got a case of the giggles…probably anxiety…and said “Bob honey, maybe we should be looking for the Bar instead of the Bridge 'cause I really could use a teensy drink right about now.” <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />

“Alrighty then Honey”, Bob said, “I think we can find a teensy drink for you
somewhere on this big ole boat and I just might have a large one myself. If we're
stuck on here then we might as well relax a bit before our boots get to shakin too
    much.”

So the couple decided to go to the other end of the long deck where the pool was
located. There would surely be a bar there. Arm in arm they walked slowly toward the pool. It was a long way and Lola was beginning to get more nervous with every step. She was holding on to Big Bobs arm so tightly that he was begining to lose circulation.

Lola pulled on Bobs arm …… “Bob do you hear that?”

“Aww I dont hear nothin Darlin” said Bob

“Yes I hear very faintly my name being said over and over, like this ……. Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola. …… Dont tell me you cant hear that.”

Bob looked as if he was concentrating really hard to try and hear.
“Nope Honey I dont hear nothin”, Bob repeated.

Now Lola didnt know if it was her imagination getting to her or what.
“Lets get to that drink ……. I really need it now” She said shaking her head.

As they got closer to the pool area Lola still heard her name being called and Bob still continued to say he didnt hear anything. Except now Lola thought she heard faint music behind the chanting of her name. She was really getting confused now. She just couldnt understand why Bob didnt hear anything.

Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola. ……

The pool was just past the glass doors now. It was dark and the moon was high. Bob stopped for a moment to look out into the dark sea.

“What!” Lola said, “Why are you stopping? Do you hear it now? Oh my! I know something is wrong. Why did we stop Bob!?” Now Lola's eyes were as wide as pancakes. She was begining to tremble.

“Now now Sweety, I just had a cramp in my leg and figured this is as good a place as any to stop and work it out. ” What in the world is wrong with you? You really do need a vacation. I think all that spooky forest stuff really shook you up” Come on let me get ya that drink.

Bob was sweating …….. maybe he is a bit frightened??

They reached the glass doors and Lola was shivering. She got behind Bob and held onto him as tight as she could. Bob pushed the door open and they both went in quickly ………

All of a sudden! The lights turned on and everyone yelled “SURPRISE!” There was a big banner that read Happy Anniversary. Music was playing loudly ….. Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola. …… All of their solid friends were there!

Someone handed Lola a teensy drink and the party began ……………….
