    Hello everyone!
I discovered a Tropical fish solid for sale on eBay. I am sorry I don't know how to put in a link to it but the item number is 2253163833.
The interesting thing is that it has the colours purple/orange/purple with a blue eye, unlike the two fishes listed in Gerson's book on page 90.
Do you know of any more variations to this solid, and is this a “known variation” or just a bad photo or what?

I am not sure, but perhaps the coloring of the “purple” is really red and just now showing true in the photo? The solids database has the 1993 Tropical Fish which appears to be purple, orange, red with blue eyes, which maybe the red is looking purpleish in the photo?

    Hi Karin !
Look exactly at the bigger picture without the box and you can see the colour is more a dark red than a purple <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ /> . This is the normal colour for this fish with blue eyes.

    Greetings !

Thank you! I suspected that it might be the photo that played a trick. It is a bit difficult to judge things from pictures only, especially when it comes to the colours. I have noticed that among others pink seems to be impossible to picture correctly (I have a weakness for pink enamel compacts).
    Thanks again!

    HI Karin,

I thought the same thing! “Wow! I've never seen that color!” Then like Michaela, I scrolled down to the larger picture and there you can tell it is the regular orange fish. But hey, it does have the box. Mine doesn't. <img src='style_emoticons//sad.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’sad.gif’ /> It would be interesting to watch the bidding if he was rare colors, don't you think? Have a great day everyone. Donna

    Hi Fellow Collectors, <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />
I'm the one who bought the “Fish”. We needed it to replace the damaged one we already had, and it was a good price. Because so many of the colors in the pictures are not correct, I never considered that it was a “different fish”. For those of you who wondered, its colors are just like the others.
