I've been to EL counter yesterday, to purchase another EL Pleasures bottle(EDP), and asked them about the holiday solids this year.
In Japan, they will release on 12th of Nov. and the solids will be:
J.Strongwaters', J.Leibers', these 'Lucky series'(clover, horseshoe etc.), and Jewels to Boot.
I have to mention that this is the first time that Strongwaters' are introduced in Japan! I'm just so happy to hear about this./smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
Hello Erica, It will be interesting for us to compare the prices of these solids with the prices marked in the U.K. We know they are cheaper in the States.
Is it possible for you to let us know how much these will cost in Japan?
Many thanks,
<img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
Hi Erica –
We are always interested in anyone sharing their feelings and experiences with solids…never be afraid or shy to bring it up. That's the reason for the site! <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />
A question…are there many collectors in Japan or just a tiny few? Do you have to “reserve” or do a “pre-buy” there to make sure you get the one(s) you want, or does Estee Lauder send enough for all who want them? Do you have anything like our Cosmetic Company Stores? (So many questions…I'm so sorry!)
Anyway, I thought I would love the Leiber Kitty the most, but the Peep (Baby Chick) just said “Buy me.” Am curious as to which one or one's you like the best. As far as the Strongwater's go, bet you will love the Hummingbird Box and the Kitten in the Chair! And do let us know the cost of these little jewels in Japan…we love to compare. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ />
Keep us posted…and post! <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />

Hi all!
I'm glad that you added the replies to my post, which talks about a local-news. <img src='style_emoticons//smile.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’smile.gif’ />Let me give my answers to these questions.
I don't think there are so many collectors in Japan. My opinion is that some people know the fact EL releases the solids every year but are not so much interested in buying since they are expensive. The prices are not announced this year yet, but the lady told me that they would be about 12,000 to 33,000 Yen(approximately $110 to $300). This is reasonable, I think, but still too expensive to those who are not avid collectors.
I've made my reservation since I've heard that each EL counter at the department stores(in Japan) has only 5 to 6 of each solid. Hope you never call this 'plenty'! I reserved Tulip Quartet, Lily Bouquet, and Clover(pendant). I've already got Jewels to Boot and Puppy…I ordered these two from United States before I knew they will be also released in Japan!! <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />
Cosmetic Company Stores…there is one like this at the outlet mall which sells EL cosmetics at lower prices. But the weird thing is that this shop is not shown on their floor map! <img src='style_emoticons//ph34r.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’ph34r.gif’ /> What do you think about it??
Anyway, I will post again, when I got the prices of each solid.
So, EL Japan has finally announced the solids for this year.
Here are the prices.12,600 Yen($115):
Ladybug
Four Leaf Clover
Acorn
Horseshoe
Cameo20,000 Yen($193):
Jewels to Boot
Tulip Quartet26,250 Yen($240)
Lily Bouquet31,500 Yen($289)
Pampered Kitty34,650 Yen($318)
All of the Judith Leiber'sDon't know why Bird in Bloom & Precious Bird are not listed on their website (they show the pictures, though!).
How do you think about these prices?? <img src='style_emoticons//wink.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’wink.gif’ />
Erica,
Thanks for letting us know how things are in Japan for the EL collectors. These prices don't seem too bad to us. We hope you enjoy your new ones. <img src='style_emoticons//biggrin.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’biggrin.gif’ />I agree!
The prices are not too expensive than what I've been expecting.Today, I found that they had removed the pictures of the two – Bird in bloom and Precious bird. Why these two? <img src='style_emoticons//unsure.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’unsure.gif’ />
So, the solids are released in Japan on last Friday, finally. What a long time! The topic on the board is already about 2005, but wait, wait…we have just caught you up for 2004 solids! <img src='style_emoticons//tongue.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’tongue.gif’ />
According to the SA, most of the solids had been sold out without even displayed at each EL shop. I've been to the counter yesterday to pick up mine, and only these are still left: Pup, Rooster, Kitten(J.L's), Ladybug, and horseshoe. Others had been sold out by the middle of October, she said. Tough for collectors!
Meanwhile I'm just feeling happy looking at my new solids!!! <img src='style_emoticons//rolleyes.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’rolleyes.gif’ />
