Whippets are similar looking to greyhounds, but smaller. Whippets were once called “the poor man's greyhound”. They were also bred to race. Weighs approx 25 lbs. Greyhounds are much larger at 60-70 lbs…mine is a big boy at 82 lbs.

If you think whippets need food, you must see Italian Greyhounds. Talk about a dog needing meat on its bones! Worse yet, they are known to shake often. They look like a mini greyhound. Weighs under 10 lbs.

I often thought about owing a greyhound, whippet, and Italian greyhound at the same time! I'd have big, medium, and small. <img src='style_emoticons//laugh.gif’ border=’0′ style=’vertical-align:middle’ alt=’laugh.gif’ /> Greyhounds get a lot of attention on their own.
